I would hardly call a GPL/proprietary license (for a substantial fee?) "flexible", but at least interested developers can look at the source code and decide if it's something they want to start supporting...rod_zero wrote:The big news is that Ableton opened Link to desktop apps and shared the code for anyone under a very flexible license so anyone can jump on it.

Between 8.3 and 9.1? Aside from Link support, there's quite a bit on the audio editing side (Melodyne Assistant-like pitch editing), MIDI players, bounce in place, about 1000 new sounds, and some other minor refinements.incubus wrote:Question for an old 8.3 reason user, is there anything else? I'll have a look.....
Ableton's SDK for Link is available for free, and they're not charging a fee to incorporate it into your app to my knowledge.Xenakios wrote:I would hardly call a GPL/proprietary license (for a substantial fee?) After seeing this, I must say Reason would be really nice as a rack for other DAW software. Even better if you could run it on another pc or laptop, more like a real life rack.

Every mobile device in the video appeared to be Apple based. Um....I don't know if this is a big deal but...Apple is removing all those pesky line out ports called the "headphone jack"....
Link is awesome...this is a great addition to Reason but I think Apple's latest trend may make this feature a little less useful.

Naaaa, not a big deal at all. They all come with adapters so you can still use standard line outs.egelmett wrote:Um....I don't know if this is a big deal but...Apple is removing all those pesky line out ports called the "headphone jack"....

Ah yes, that's right...the adapter.
As you were.

Well, having tested it out, i have noticed that it always seems slightly off when recording sequences from my iPad, and I always need to fade in a few milliseconds at the beginning to prevent crackling. Not entirely sure what's up, but I don't have the same problem in Live. Anyone else experienced this?

Hey KVR users
I'm in communication with Apple about adding Ableton Link Support to Logic Pro X. They want to
hear the feedback of the users. Please leave your answer here in this external poll.
