Hi Guys,
When I am recording my guitar with Guitar Rig Pro, I don't want to hear the dry signal my guitar would make anyway. If I muted the track I was recording on, I still hear my guitar sound coming from my interface. I think the phrase is, 'turning off direct input monitoring'.
Do you have any suggestions to how to turn this off? I use a Roland BR800 interface and Studio One Pro. After a quick skim of the internet and the BR800 user manual, I don't think my the BR800 has the capability to turn off direct input monitoring. How do you guys combat this problem? Should I buy an interface like one of Focusrite's products that can turn off direct input monitoring?
Thanks for any help!
Ryan

Isn't that a portable digital 8-track recorder with audio over USB, or is there a typo somewhere? The usual Roland audio interfaces all have model names starting with "UA".rafrost wrote:I use a Roland BR800 interface

So let's check out that owner's manual, page 128:google wrote:The BR-800 has a USB SETTING screen with parameters for Direct Monitoring [...]
The BR-800 Owners Manual wrote:... DIR MONITOR (Direct monitor).
This specifies whether the BR-800’s audio output will be sent to the PHONES jack and LINE OUT jacks.
- OFF - Choose the OFF setting if the audio data is being passed “thru” your computer. If this setting is selected, you won’t hear the sound unless Thru is enabled in your computer.
- ON - The BR-800’s audio input will be output directly. Choose the ON setting if you’re using the BR-800 on its own without connecting it to a computer. (If you choose the OFF setting, only the sound being input via USB IN will be output.)
