Err, but there's nothing else like this available. I don't think you're fully appreciating what Avenger is.PietW. wrote:Boring. All this was already there. Where are the software engineers who program something new?

You're probably right. But my interest faded when i saw that it's kind of a "construction kit" kind of machine. Probably overkill, and bloat for my uses. Fair enough for people who need a complete solution though, with probably many, many quality EDM presets.m-ac wrote:Err, but there's nothing else like this available.PietW. wrote:Boring. I am hoping that Avenger will replace Absynth and Alchemy.
I will however be content if it is a worthy competitor to
Falcon, Serum, Cycle, Omnisphere and Icarus.
Great if it did a image processing as in Kaleidoscope.
The feature in list in Avenger is long and interesting.
Now all we need is a time machine to take to January 1, 2017

Don't judge the cook before you get the meal!
....of course i've done that myself sometimes
But yeah....first thing i thought "Not another EDM machine"!
But sure it can do more?!?!
4 LFO modules. Means 4 LFO's for all? That not enough. I want more.

At first I was pretty interested in a synth from Vengeance. But now it looks more and more like: Serum has commercials success so lets take the wavetable part, Nexus makes money with SQ expansions so lets do this too, RapidSynth has these layers and a simple sidechain effect so we'll build it in, ...
I think it's a total overkill for "normal" use (even if I had Avenger I'd probably use a simple Sylenth1 or Hive for a supersaw or something like that).
Btw I wouldn't trust the perfomance counter in any plugin. All developers make their plugins look great on these

I would love to try the other synths out that have 8 wavetables oscillators where you can draw your own, a multisampler, 4 separate filters with a master filter, multiple MSEGs, drum sequencer, step seqs, and flexible FX rack with fx routing. Please direct me to where I can try those synths - because I have been waiting for this for no reason apparently if it is already here...PietW. wrote:Boring. All this was already there. I respect the work of programmers. Unfortunately, no single feature is something really new. Everything was already there and is repeated again and again and again. So where here are the inovations?
Therefore, this plugin for me is boring because there is nothing new.
Who has problems with in my opinion, is not my problem.

I hope the innovation is at least in the sound quality. I've heard all the sounds in these demos 100500 times but now they show really nice character, polished and well balanced sound.PietW. wrote:So where here are the inovations?
@chk071 I guess you will be able to operate it like a normal subtractive/wavetable synth. Like Dune2, where you can make "one note makes a track" presets with all 8 layers but in reality most people are using it in a more traditional way.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

True, but what are you searching for especially?PietW. wrote:I respect the work of programmers. Unfortunately, no single feature is something really new. Everything was already there and is repeated again and again and again. So where here are the inovations?

I would like to see really a new step forward in morphing physical modelling stuff. Still nothing comes close to what the good old Sculpture can do for me here.
I would also like to see a vector/grid based (sample and synth)OSC where i can load more than 4 sound sources (32 or so) and blend/morph them like Alchemy can do. Just load in and draw or automate your sound sources on a grid and stuff...
Very rare feature sadly.
I also would need more impulse to buy it since i have already Falcon and similar monsters (lacking those above mentioned options).
Can it do cross modulations?
Audio rate everywhere?
Multi-touch mode?
14 bit midi?
MPE?
Audio In?
What else?

You keep saying this same thing on every new synth topicPietW. wrote:I respect the work of programmers. Unfortunately, no single feature is something really new. Everything was already there and is repeated again and again and again. So where here are the inovations?

To me, when new synths comes out, first thing I check is the sound quality. This synth seems to sounds good, but those audio demos was not clear enough. Looking forward the demo or not.. I just hope it won't use dongle, otherwise I forget this synth.. Just like I bought kick 2 instead of Metrum and other fx's vs those Vegeance fx bundles..

You have a point there. Actually there was more venom mixed with a nice dose of foot stomping in that post than PietW.'s post.AnX wrote:Its ok for you to moan about ilok tho

I see, seems like I will have to make a new video soon, showing some of the sound generators in detail

It is amazing how many people bite the hook of inflammatory comment posters.. please just ignore them and move on.. so we can enjoy discussion of the topic at hand instead of making it about those who just want attention.
Back on track.. I wasn't super interested in this one initially, since I don't really need another sound generator (Spire, Hive, Sylenth, Diva, Zebra, etc etc). But it does sound pretty good.. it's a bright synth and most of the demo patches have a crunchy feel to them which can be good for some types of sounds.
Interested in knowing the price.. and giving it a demo spin. :c )
