Hi, can anyone recommend me some good basic trance drum sample cd-s?

Get yourself a copy of Wired - Elements of Trance. It has all those and a lot more :)

Wired is f**king shite man, in a BIG way. Its sounds like a load of reject loops from 1999. You'd be better off using the Re-drum sample content. Also, do a google search cuz I'v found some REALLY good sounding trance hits that way.

Post

I'm not talking about the loops. The single hit content is great and perfect for what he wants. Plus there is instrument content in there that he might find useful too. You obviously didn't investigate very far.

Not really. I found a couple of kicks that I liked, but thats about it. If you want trance then get z3ta and Reason; Wired would come a poor second imo. But Mozzer, if you really rate this product then maybe i should have another look. I was extremely unimpressed with the loops, and that seemed to be the vast majority of the content at a glance.

I'm not saying use it for loops.... the drum content and kits are great. The other stuff is just there to sweeten the deal. I have no interest personally in the synth elements as I have a JP8080/Virus C rack/Nordlead 3/Novation KS-4/and a Roland SH-32 as well as various VSTi's here.

He asked about drum samples and thats why I recommended it :)

if you get to grips with the basics of synth programming and using all the myriad of effects that are out there, you can usually create what you need or adapt it from something else....

I think the idea that there's an ideal synth or sample cd for each genre of music is kind of naive and a bit of a cop-out. Besides, you'll get much more kudos when you've created original unique sounds, as opposed to presets or samples that everyone's heard a hundred times.....

just my 2 cents! don't mean to sound like a patronising bastard... :)

Mate, the single hits aint that good! Pretty average imo. I cant imagine purchasing something like Wired purely for a couple bog standard hits. But hey, i respect your recommendation! Not saying your right or wrong, just offering my opinion.

It has a lot more than a couple. It has all the other sounds that you need like the nice processed claps, hats, hits, FX and stuff too. Plus it is what you do with them once in a track that counts too i.e. processing etc.

I personally have found it to be quite useful, but then I didn't just give it a cursory listen.

I like "Wired" a lot. I think the synth-stuff is weak, but the drums are great; And if you like that style of music (pop-dance or trance?) I think the built-in drums-loops are pretty good. The single-hits are GREAT, in my opinion.
