Recently I found out that even if you click "Chord notes only" menu inside Melody Generator, it is still out of chords notes. Yelloukhan advised me, that I also have to make this setting as well
Mode:Chord Notes Only
Options: un select the "Penultimate note is step above tonic (also depends on the chord!)"
First Note: Random Chord Note
last Note: Random Chord Note
Climax: No Climax
I think it is not right, but OK.
It was OK, but now it is not working even with that setting, have a look, please:

There is something wrong with melody generation in this video. You should not see (Transposed). It seems all melody phrases were created for the first chord (V). I am checking this now.

Thanks!

I know why this happened. The reason for this strange result is that transposition was applied to melody phrases. In the past, until the latest beta version the Melody Generator created scale notes only. When a phrase has scale notes only it is transposed a bit differently than phrases with chord notes. E.g. if you transpose down V becomes IV, III become II, etc.
Not to mention that such a phrase won't obey the master track chord when transposed or moved around because it depends on the scale only. As a solution in v3.1b15 the Melody Generator creates chord notes and applies scale step offset when needed. Please note that it still creates scale notes when Mode is set to "Scale Notes Only". So the improved MG will behave more logical when transposed.

Thanks,

i have been thinking of having one melody gen for scale notes and another for chords. this would simplify things.
