Very inspiring to watch them play and see their gear (regardless of what it is) .... but....
It's terribly depressing hearing them talk about "others" in the context of what isn't music. I sure, I do it all the time, which is exactly what I'm talking about.
Even at 51 I've realized that "who the f**k am I" in determining what is/isn't cookie cutter.
Yeah I know what I DON'T like, and why, but it's go nothing to do with loops, midi, what guitar someone plays, what drum samples they are using, or anything else. It speaks to me, or it doesn't.
Back to "sound city" .. again, there are so many false bullshit comments I've come to one resounding conclusion: As great as it is to see these living legends on tape, the more they talk, the less I like them
