Looking for some suggestions for FREE Mac plugins

Take a look at dontcrack.com, ghettosynth. They have a great selection of free stuff in various formats, all broken down by os and plug-in format. As mentioned here earlier, some of the Blue Cat and Flux plugs are beautiful, professional and sound incredible. Some others, not so much!

But it's hard to beat free, and they're a great resource for "try before you buy" demo versions too.

To be honest, I don't use any of the plugins I mentioned on a regular basis. For instance, I don't gel with TyellN6, it does sound good, lively, but well, just not for me (something about the filter characteristics).
The one I do miss is Automat (since I decided to go 64 bit exclusively), fond memories of that one, I urge you to give it a try, especially since you'll be using it for house-type music and the like. It is a beast of a synth.
I have Drumspillage, but if it wasn't for that, Minispillage would be a goto for kicks and snares.

some of these are 32 bit so get 32 lives's demo(Mac only) for 1 or 2 free wrapped plugin

some are free if u buy an issue of Computer Music magazine(includes a DVD) they have the Letters "CM" in their names

curve 2 CM (free with Magazine) is 3 Osc and u can draw your own Wave-shapes

Distocore BassMurda 1.5 FREE has 3 Osc ..its sorta like a kick drum synth that can be a bass synth

Green Oak Software Crystal has 3 Osc

Helm Has 2 Osc + Sub

PS i would have mentioned Ichiro Toda's Synth1 if i was on a PC the Mac version is really buggy
