For me, installing is a pain!
Since I upgraded, Bitwig doesn´t recognize Decapitator any more. Also Sie-Q.
When I load the rack, everything is there. I´m strictly offline
with my music pc and the ilok manager doesn´t let me sign in.
So much hastle for one eq plugin... :dog:
Rack opens Sie-Q, as a single plugin I cannot activate it due to the missing internet connection.

Thanks for the heads up, just got my new "soundtoy". :)

On Gearslutz someone mentioned that Sie-Q introduces unwanted DC offset to the signal, which can harm headphones and speakers. Can anyone verify this?

Yes, it does. You can solve it easily, though. Use Filterfreak or any other plug-in with filters after Sie-Q with a HPF at minimum.

While I don't have Filterfreak (I know: any first order HPF would do for removing DC), I don't like the idea of having to use an addtional plugin, just to fix a "problem" that is caused by another one. I'm curious as to whether the DC offset is part of the original design of the Siemens W295b and therefor part of the emulation or whether it's a bug?

It is clearly visible here: DC offset is a 0 Hz signal.
Also drive button should compensate level when open to positive settings according to user manual, but that is not the case. Looks like a bug.

Nice sounding EQ. Not for "surgical" use but great for adding/removing low boom and top end sheen plus removal of that mid range that can soon overwhelm a mix. Plus I love that drive control. Sie-Q has encouraged me to use the SoundToys EffectRack more as it is very useful to stick in the rack after certain effects and has made me realise what a great set of plugins these are and how useful the rack actually is with it's feedback, dry/wet mix, in/out volume controls. Great fun to use!

Surfed the net, downloaded the updater, listened to Spotify, installed it, opened up my DAW, works great, surfed the net, used the DAW...

Seems easy to add a sheen with this sounds nice, very airy at the top.

It does not harm your headphones or speakers because any DC offset will get removed in your amplifier stage. There are amplifiers that can have a frequency range down to zero (in other words capable of reproducing dc), but they cost a bit more and they are usually used in laboratories.

@Den*

How did you measure that? SPAN shows the DC at -100db in reaper here (can't imagine that hurting speakers/headphones)?

Anyone for a comparison with SlickEQ and Luftikus ?

In Reaper (vista 32 bit) I'm getting:

'Could not find imported function in specified DLL'

..error message upon plugin scan for SieQ - then Reaper crashes. Anyone else encountered this?

It's activated in the ilok license manager fine.
