Hey!

@ThePresent, thanks for the opportunity and feedback!

Here's my second attempt.

Lowered the snare reverb and made it more focused, also balanced vox and synth lead during chorus and brought up the pads. I tried to maintain the same vibe of my first mix.

Good luck, everyone!

You made a beautiful stereo image, especially when the guitars kick in. I love what you did to the acoustic guitars, don’t touch them! I also like the overall sound image. Make the intro a little less loud, tame the bass guitar a bit, make the vocals just a little less ess-ish and bright and watch the timing of the “whoo-oo-oo” around 1:35, it’s off. Could you take a listen at the kick, it seems somewhat flat compared to other mixes? Not sure how to describe the kick precisely though. I’ll take a listen again.
I lowered the intro and added a bit more dynamic change from Intro to Verse to Chorus, adjusted the bass, got rid of a bit of harshness, fixed the timing on the “whoo-oo-oo”, and re-did the kick (was flying blind without any detail on what bothered you about the kick and just took care of what bothered me about it :D ) I hope it works for you!

Here's my attempt for round 2...cleaned up the bassy rumble...added more "pleasant sparkle". Yes, it sounds a bit thinner and quieter than the first mix, but I think this might be a better starting point for future mastering attempts

I can send the 32bit/48kHz-wav-file via wetransfer

Good luck to everyone and big thanks @ThePresent!

Edited for 2 reasons...

1. wrong mix uploaded :dog: before rendering the mix, I accidentally disabled one insert-fx
2. I made a Dropbox-Account, so you can easily download my mixes

Again, I'm impressed, wow what you all did to my song! Thanks so much.

I'll be listening, will be even harder than first round I'm afraid.

I've made up my mind, finally.
All mixes sound fine, so I listened for details, like low-end handling, and finally, again, the overall sound image and how the vocals shine in the mix as a whole.

My numbers 1, 2 and 3 are:

1. Aditya.inHim
2. Jim Kennedy
3. kevin gobin

Like I said, everyone made a really fine mix. The winners caught my ear with special qualities that I can or cannot mention specifically.
Aditya.inHim struck me with his perfect balance and treatment of the rhythm section. Jim Kennedy did something really nice with the vocals.
Kevin gobin, the mix just sounds pleasant to me, very natural and clear.

Again, thank you all for your efforts and congratulations to the winners.
Anyone interested in additional feedback, you're welcome.

A huge thank you to all participants, and congratulations to the winners.
Also, a thank you to our month's client "ThePresent" for offering us this track to mix.

We perform with the usual: you can now select your free license, mention it in the thread and then either contact me (for TwoNotes or NyrvSystems) or satYatunes.

I hope you had fun, you can of course continue to discuss the productions, ask questions, etc.
Otherwise - see you in the next Challenge or the Gossip thread.

And don't forget - if you got a song that gives you headaches, or you want to hear a different spin with it - get in touch! We're always after new audio material to mix.
