Our apologies to everyone who encountered this download issue during our pre-launch window. It has now been addressed, and as of 1 PM EDT, Neutron is officially launched and available! If you're still having a problem with the downloads, we recommend you clear your browser's cache and try again: that should resolve the issue. Thanks for your patience.
Also, ToneShop: thank you for your report of errors on Windows 7: we are looking into that.
Best,
The team at iZotope

Mine said the certificate was expired and may be a website poser, but since I was already signed into my account, it seemed unlikely it was a fraudulent website.lingyai wrote:
I guess you didn't get the unsafe connection warnings then, eh?

Yeah, I've never entirely understood the difference tbh. Also I can't see any reason a) why someone couldn't also use Neutron for mastering, or for that matter Ozone for mixing (I do), or b) why they haven't incorporated this sort of technology, if it's so good, in Ozone too?soulone82 wrote:I guess it´s because Ozone is aimed at mastering whereas Alloy 2 is/was aimed at mixing. Neutron is also a mixing tool, so it replaces Alloy.

I can either crossgrade to Neutron advanced, or for $50 more, can upgrade my Bundle. I already have RX4 which also has the individual plugins, plus I already have the stuff in Bundle v.1 (Ozone Adv, Nectar, etc), so the only things the extra $50 offer are the Vocal Synth and the RX5 plugins. Worth it?
I wonder if that bundle includes any future updates, e.g. Bundle v.1 came with Ozone 6 Adv and then included the upgrade to 7 Adv.

Well, on the Laptop it won´t install either. This time it hangs on "Installing C++ x64 redistributable".lingyai wrote:Please let us know how it goes
EDIT: The installer from Plugin Boutique works fine on the Laptop.

OK I just watched this but it makes no sense to me
how can it work out a correct setting based on the first 4-10 seconds of the track? The first 10 seconds might be all instrumental or a loud intro, then the rest of the track completely different, so how can the first part represent the whole track meaningfully?

well, clearly it can't for a whole track - but it's not about it doing all the work for you, just finding a starting point.
I'm sure I saw them say that it's best to use it in the thick of it eg during a chorus.
personally, I'm getting more joy using the presets rather than the track assistant.

From the demo video for track assistant I don't understand what the plugin is listening to - it seems to me that they have the plugin on a master or sub mix because it is listening to an entire mix with vocals and then adjusting some stuff to bring the vocals out. But - from what is said it seems the plugin is purely on the vocal track but listening to a mix and then adjusting just the vocal track. In which case how is it listening to the entire mix?

In that demo, the DAW is playing all the tracks, but neutron is only on the vocal track so it's only listening to and affecting that vocal track.
You can put it on any track and it will try and figure what the content of that track is (vocal, percussion etc) and figure out a starting point for the eq/compressors/exciter/transient shaper.
You can have one instance of neutron talk to another, but that's not for the automatic track assistant - that's for the masking where you can see if one track is causing problems with another and edit both from the same plugin instance to correct it.
