I've owned Studio One from the beginning,and as much as I love this DAW, the dev's don't seem to get it, the waveform graphics are probably some of the worst in the business. Please Presonus Dev's look at Cubase,Nuendo,Logic,Pro Tools,Reaper whoever, and go back to the lab with this one please.. It's getting old.. And yes I'm aware these guys developed alot of steinbergs code for cubase and nuendo, great, well can we get their graphics for waveforms ever??? The current waveforms are so terrible for editing, it's not even funny anymore.

ableton's waveforms are bad too. it's drawn with stair line

I hope you're kidding. If you truly believe Ableton's waveform resolution is bad, especially when compared to Studio One's, then a visit to an optometrist might be in order.

I absolutely agree with OP. A poor waveform resolution becomes blatantly obvious when you switch between Studio One and Pro Tools, or Studio One and Cubase. It's not a show stopper, but, IMO, is far from being considered negligible.

Make the FR in their Answers database and link to it here so others can vote it up. No idea if the S1 developers even read KVR so your direct plea to them here might be in vain.

When (or if) you do that, also post comparison pictures of PT or better looking waveforms.

In fact, I do (not only with Studio One). Is it the prettiest waveform in the world? No. But does it get in the way? No. I've been editing audio for 25 years in one form or another and used almost every host out there and audio editor during that time, and I can't say I've ever been bothered by the way a waveform LOOKS while editing. It just isn't anything I pay attention to. If I can do the edits I need, that's good enough for me.

I do think looks can help with workflow and eye strain, etc. But the waveform appearance has never once crossed my mind as something to change. YMMV of course.

Put it in the new database and link to it here. 2010 was a long time ago and maybe you can get more people to support it now, and at least there is a literal vote count for FR's now.

Why not, nothing to lose. It takes about as long to do that as it takes to post here and at least 3 people here will vote it up.

You're welcome. I'm surprised it's not implemented in other DAW's. I've been used to Comparisonics natively in Samplitude for 11 years now and it's something I just can't do without.

While Comparisonics is something I can understand the value in, I can't say in any of my time with Samplitude that I ever really got any use out of it. I mean, you aren't going to mix purely based on the frequency information displayed with it. You still have to listen to your sounds. It isn't an exact science. So maybe I just never "got it". Though I do understand it, and it is nice to have the OPTION for it. I personally think it really clutters up the screen with colors everywhere. So I always ended up turning that feature off (the normal Samplitude waveforms are fine).

Of course, in my opinion, the waveforms are the least of the problems with the Samplitude interface. Great program, terrible interface, both in aesthetics and workflow (for the way I prefer to work). I want to like Samplitude more, and have used it plenty over the years (I still have Pro X installed here, which I know isn't the most up to date version, but I play with it from time to time). But man, that interface is right down there with Reaper for me, lol.

All this is, of course, my personal opinion and YMMV.
