Hey guys!

I'm looking for a VST with Celtic or Icelandic or old Nordic- similar instruments.

Any ideas of where to look?

Cheers

Check out Precision Sound (if you have full version of Kontakt). There are others, but they were the first to come to mind for instruments in that area.
Textur for ACE
After Hours for Lounge Lizard EP-4
Prism Sticks for Chromaphone 2

Hey Coincidental,
Yes I do have Kontakt!
Ah man... found a bunch of goodies on their site. Thank you so much for that tip, it's gonna be very useful :)

No more? Here's a strange market gap.

Yes I very much agree!

So far I've only been able to find one more, it's called "Big Fish Audio Celtic Instruments".

Would have loved to find a collection pack of those kind of instruments.

ERA II is focused on antiquated instruments but it has things like harps, horns and flutes that might be what you're looking for.

Also I think the Cinewinds pro expansion has Irish flute-type things.

Basically any Ethnic collection has Celt instruments. They are very popular. Things like Celtic Harp, Irish Flute, Bagpipes, Uilllean Pipes, Fiddle, Pen Whistle, etc. are usually present. Ethno 2, by UVI, for example, has them all. Of course, they have a lot more.

Some more:

Celtin Harp

Finnish/Estonian Zither

Some nice and inexpensive instruments on Cinematique.

Really dig the sound of Skyrim, would like to dig into that more with folk intruments like these, but I fear the "north" doesn't have enough developers.

Xtant Audio has a good selection:

Ilya Efimov's whistles are also great:

And Bolder Sounds has a good selection of pipes:

Nobody seemed to notice, but VSTBuzz has a new Kontakt library up for grabs. It's called The Mither and it's some kind of very celtic-sounding northern cousin of mr. mandolin, made by composer Alexander Sparf.

And a little nod, for fans of a certain game I mentioned earlier here... I'm sure you'll find it if, like me, you've spent hundreds of hours invested in that cold world, occasionally taking shelter in the warmth of it's fireplace-lit taverns. Take a listen around.

Samplephonics have a Nordic Pop library.
