Studio One - Why are the waveforms so Corny looking ?

I respect your opinion Brent. Personally I don't find the interface a hindrance at all but I've been using it for a long time so I'm familiar with it. Plus I go into the great depths with it because I'm forever beta testing or doing support or tutorials or writing articles. For me Comparisonics is great for editing because you can see the frequencies so if there's a series of notes or hits you want to delete or manipulate it's good to have a visual aid.
Anyway back to Studio One sorry to hijack the thread.

As mentioned above, it is purely my opinion and I did mention that for the way I like to work, the Samplitude interface gets in the way. I'm sure that when you try something that works differently from Samplitude, it probably seems to hinder you. I do think the Samplitude interface could use some polish (again, I only have up to Pro X, so I'm a couple of versions behind). But mostly, it is just a difference in working. For instance, it drives me crazy that you can't select more than one track! (if this has changed, let me know). I understand it is supposed to be "object" based, but let me select more than one track full of objects please! And inline MIDI. Any chance that is coming?

I do understand the benefits of Comparisonics, and I appreciate the technology (and I know the inventors of it are open and willing to help any DAW implement it). I just never really found myself using it, even knowing what it was for. So I turned it off because it make the interface more busy than I would like. I am sure if I used it as much as you do, I would find a way to make it useful.

(Ok, sorry, this is now way off topic, my bad, now back to Studio One as you said, lolol)

I do think the Studio One waveforms are fine. They aren't pretty (and if we're comparing, I guess the Samplitude waveforms in their standard form are prettier, lol?), but they work fine for me. I've done plenty of editing in them and they work fine. I would like to see more audio editing FEATURES in Studio One, but the waveforms themselves have never proven to hinder me in any way.

Hi Brent,
In the VIP just click on the track name and then Ctrl/click to add non contiguous tracks to that selection. Or Shift/click to add all tracks. between the initially selected track. Click in the space above the first track to deselect tracks. In the mixer select a track by clicking on the track number above the fader and use the same selection procedure. Deselect by clicking in the vertical space at the left of the mixer.

I think they're drawn 16-6it (or maybe 24-bit) which may confuse some who rely more on the visual than audible, like with a 32-bit float waveform that might look clipped if it's over 0, even though it's not.

At least it used to be, haven't checked lately.

At any rate, that's what Answers is for so people don't have to argue subjective FR's. Just post it and other users vote it up or down, no argument necessary. Not sure why more people don't use it, except that some can't post there because they don't own it. They've done a few high voted things on the list already and seem to be focusing on some of the things on top.

For example, I voted "no" on the undo FR but obviously many others disagree as it has the most up votes. Such is democracy (of sorts).
