Cool does it have a full screen mode without the controls showing?

Thanks, yes, you can hide the controls completely (full window mode) and you can set the resolution up to and above Full HD (2048x1600 max. at the moment - not full screen if your resolution is higheraMUSEd wrote:Cool does it have a full screen mode without the controls showing?

As many have said above, this plugin has a LOT of features and usability packed into a very reasonable price. Using Oscarizor adds a whole new dimension to my analysis workflow (pardon the pun). And to top it all off, the author is actively supporting the plugin with updates, even giving them to existing customers for free. And he is very responsive to questions by email. Very glad I found this plugin and excited to see all the improvements in V3.
Thanks Sugar Audio!

I'm glad I decided to use Oscarizor as a Spectrum Analyzer VST in my Cubase DAW. Features keep expanding from Sugar Audio. I use Oscarizor on every mix to help me visualize where there might be conflicts. I can't wait to try this new eye candy 3d waterfall. This might help with overall visualization by having a different perspective.
I bet if enough users ask, we might see an audio conflict window showing just the overlapping frequencies, perhaps based on a threshold that is time and frequency dependent.

DrReacto, thanks for your great feedback. The conflict window is already implemented
- maybe in another way than you've expected:
a) Choose the 2d waterfall, raise the "depth" knob to the highest value.
b) E.g. for kick/bass interference: solo these both receives in your receiving instance.
c) Zoom into the relevant frequency range e.g. 30-300Hz.
d) Choose some kind of light colors for your receives.
e) Lower the FFT AVG e.g. to the minimum.
f) I would suggest a FFT Size 4096 and higher, 32768 is optimal.
g) Choose blend type 1.
h) Raise the bottom end and lower the top end of the signals with the faders at the left side.
-> This step is important because you have to find the right tresholds here.
These steps will lead you to a view like this (where the lightened parts are the interferences) e.g. in this example at the cross the 122Hz:
This guide will find its way into the documentation... and remember this is just an example. There are for sure dozens of other combinations that could lead to alternative views.

Which one is the depth knob? Thats a lot of steps. It would be super if there was tab or a button to display just that screen already made without the need to turn a bunch of knobs, and also just the overlaps, if they exceed x% threshold for X amount of time. Even if that is preset. Or a bunch of presets would be great with different views already made. I dont' know if its difficult to make universal presets that work in all daws, but PSP gets around that by having their own preset manager that works outside the built in one on Cubase.
Or could you have a bank of presets on the website that could be downloaded? Played with it a few minutes, some new layouts to get used to but I'm liking the visual changes.

"Depth" and "Width" knobs are in the 3D2 section (because 3D is the main application purpose of them). Yes, a lot of steps, but most of them are optional. And creating presets for it is like having presets for a compressor: you have to adjust the settings to your levels anyway. However of course you can create some nice working presets on your own in your DAW - a native preset system would also be great, yes.
BTW, I forgot one (optional) last step: use the FREEZE ALL (FRZ A) to exactly analyze the collisions over time. That's the main advantage of a waterfall over a "snapshot" collision detector.

I am a big user of visualizers when I am mixing and mastering. I use Insight and melda's analyzer for a long time and then got Nugen Visualizer and Mastercheck. I have the Blue Cat Analysis bundle but I don't use it much because I don't like the UI and visualizations. so I am excited about Oscarizor, which I just purchased!
