I feel honored you mentioned me for a discount! Thank you very much! :) But I'll pass and I'd like to give another one the chance to buy Rapid instead. Because I never bought a 1.0 version and I probably never will. Rapid as it is for now is not useful for my purposes but I may rethink if there is an updated version (resizable, wavetable, multisamples, mac) available. Also I'd like to demo the competitors e.g. Vengeance Sound Avenger first :D

But I demoed it some time (FL Studio 12, Win7, installed on an SSD):

- I didn't like the installer will install both (32+64) since I don't need a 32 bit version

- clicking left on a preset in the preset browser opens the info box -> this info does not close itself and even sticks on top if I move the ui window
- all presets took way too much time loading (5-15 seconds) and Rapid blocked the host during this
- I could not find a way to adjust the phase of the unison voices and therefore the unison sounded horrible (regardless of detune and spread) -> it had this spike at the beginning where all the phases align
- it would be nice if the modulation matrix would display the name I already chose for the macro controllers instead of macro 1, 2 & 3
- the preset Arp Progressive Reaction has a macro called Drive but it doesn't see to be linked to some effect -> it's just a empty insert
- I found no option that disables the tooltips -> they are pretty annoying after 10 minutes
- sometimes the text writes out of its bounds -> macro controller something with "g" oder "y"
- when a knob has a macro assigned and the amount tweaked -> moving the knob with the mouse and a red flickering appeared sometimes
- how can more fx-types be assigned to one osc?
- some presets like Pad Ambient Pad 2 take up to 10% cpu on my i7 machine when playing a single note... ...and you were complaining about Serum ;)

- as I've already foreseen, the ui is too small on my screen -> especially the font is hardly readable
- can Rapid be resold? That's also one major thing when I buy software, the licence transfer fee, ...

This guy knows sound design, alright I want the full vsti!! :) Ambient Pad 2 reminds me of a dammerung title I used to spin holy f**k!! Nice work man! I'm searching for the flute! Maybe this is in the full version? Good stuff man, cpu is what i expected, a tad bit higher, but I'm sure this can be optimized in the future. This synth sounds like a f**king record! Thank you for tweaking the sounds this well, goodbye virus ti..

Ok ready to buy!!

Congrats on launch. Good luck. Would have considered it at early bird price.

Use the "Random" slider under each osc to adjust phase randomness for unison to get a wider sound

Rapid demo not working in Reaper, after install not see in plugin list.

This is a really awesome synth guys!! Haven't listened to too many of the presets but for sound design from scratch, this thing has incredible potential!! The filters are amazing and with the extra controls sound quite unique, especially the comb -- very nicely done.

The envelopes are also very well done, very snappy and tight!

Any chance to ever add mseg's?

Here is a video of my first sound design experiment with RAPID after playing with it a bit. First things first, I usually try is creating some nice pads, so here no exception, and it seems quite capable of them. Initial impressions are all very good and most importantly the work flow is excellent and everything is intuitive :D If you were hoping for a chance to hear the factory sounds, I'm sure those videos will come along soon.

Hi,
discount for the thread posters, funny idea. :)

On my pc (win7-64) the installer did not use the directory which I entered.

Entered: c:\program files\native instruments\vstplugins 32bit

But it was copied to c:\program files (x86)\native instruments\vstplugins 32bit

So I moved the DLL to the right place and it was successful detected in REAPER (32bit).

Thanks for the demo und viele Grüße ins Sauerland

Very much enjoy this synth trial.
Economical CPU use, good and clean bass frequency representation, easy visual routing workflow and very flexible also, very smooth responsive GUI.

Patches loading very quick from Cubase 8.5 64bit by Win7. Loading patches, there is no host hanging spikes or noise for me. Very smooth and quick.

Installation had no difficulties.

Only very tiny issues from me:
+ I do not need this 32bit version, I do not like to install it.
+ Routing by envelope / LFO /seq has this drop-down token thinger being used for assignments. Habits tell me to move the button above it! Maybe it is no problem, tho my habits dislike this.
+ This token takes also some time to vanish after the mouse has moved away from the buttons. I like sometimes to read the data obscured under this token after clicking them - it is annoying like this to wait. Wishing the token to vanish very quick or customize this from options maybe. Maybe it is no problem also, I am picky.

Trial version is OK, I think.
Limitations of fewer layers and presets annoys a little, but cannot complain for this available functionality and 20 minute testing. Tho lacking a typical annoying noise burst or bypass? OK. I think I cannot complain.

A VST3 version for future-proofing is planned maybe?
Very nice synth, I will tinker more with it. Testing aliasing, filters, and such things as this later.

BEST VST Synth ever, everything is flexible and so solid.. Great tool to design new sounds. Thanks Parawave :)

That's quite a statement

Thanks for putting me on the list, Parawave! Downloaded the demo, will try the synth asap.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Just a quick and rather important question, I know that users can't import wavetables, but does this also include wave samples?

I found this on site and after testing the demo I can't seem to load wave files either.

Can I add my own Wavetables or Multi-Samples?
Currently, Rapid does not offer users the ability to add their own. Editing wavetables and samples requires a complex extended editor. As our focus lies on ease of use, we reserve these features for future version. Let us know if you are interested.

Hello. I also have to say thanks to Parawave for including me on the list. Having been one of the "critics" of Rapid, this shows that he has a "sportive spirit" :-)

I already downloaded the demo, and will give it attention in the next days. Since I have until the 1st of November, I don't want to rush. Some features that really matter to me are left out, like the possibility to import wave sounds to make new wavetables, and the wavetable editing itself. If I end up buying Rapid, I sincerely hope that these features will be addressed in the future (AFAIK, the wave import is already on the to do list).

Congratulation on the launch.
