The latest Renoise 3.1 is even better than a Simon as used by prominent EDM talentEatMe wrote:This is a relolview of Renoise - the program I am using to create music with.
---------- disclaimer: I hope you can laugh about this. Please do not expect this relolview to show what you can do with the real Renoise ----------
Renoise isn't just a Dee Ay Wobble Do.
It has UFOs. You can set the email for each enveloppe, and wish merry christmas many times with the Hydra device. With that built-in device you can control all kinds of Santa's reindeers to put each of their hoofs on a differently colored spot, and also phase in between these positions.
A good thing about Renoise is, that you can connect it with a to-do-yourself custom built in-the-wall mounted big standing dialing wheel with a number for trivia questions and an index finger to point to the lucky number (trivia questions are not included in Renoise).
Overnight, it works very fine as light source for reading books, as you can put all screen elements to a bright white color. This is a guarantee for overnight succeeding. Do not forget to also put your screen saver to a bright white color.
Renoise is very good at using no CPU at all. You can close it, and then it uses much less of your resources, so that you can open Renoise and try to do something good with it's extensive set of features.
What surprised and excited me most about Renoise, is that there is no sound audible when you have selected no sound card in the preferences, which is a major advantage for meditating sessions and also for in libraries where silence can be an issue.
So, it's definitely trying to be worth it if you want to be an artist.
