2GB install with the presets ? I hope it is possible to choose where the bulk of that data goes i.e. the presets and WT's i.e. an external drive as I am running on only 6 GB free on my C drive.

Also can it be confirmed that the full product has separate 64/32 bit installers and does this reduce the size of the install payload ?

Can parawave kindly confirm. Thanks

The installer asks you first where to install the 32 bit version, then the 64 one. I simply deleted the 32 folder after install. The 64 bit dll is a 22Mb file.

The soundbank has a different installer, and yes, you can install the 2G datas where you like (though, the FXP presets are on your C drive, but need 2Mb).

Yes, there are two installers. The plugin itself (~22MB), which includes 64/32 bit plugins, and the factory sounds installer(~2GB). You can install the factory sounds anywhere you want, but I wouldn't recommend installing it on a slow external drive, as it increases the load times when browsing presets.

I'm still busy trying every preset. I LOVE what I'm hearing. If I had one word to describe the sound, I would choose : sharp.

Might i ask how fast the modulation sources like LFO´s can go. I would want at least 250Hz, better 1Khz.
What about general audio rate modulation of every parameter?

Has anyone else had activation problems? When I try to activate, it says expired. Has to be done within 48 hours. I purchased this about 2 hours ago.

The LFO can go up to 65 HZ. If you need faster modulations for the oscs, than you can use the Ring Mod or the Phase Mod (like FM). For what do You need exactly so fast modulations?

Nice sound, low CPU usage. GUI is better than I thought with smooth animation. Dev should have done an intro price tough.

Soundplex wrote:I feel honored you mentioned me for a discount! Thank you very much! :) But I'll pass and I'd like to give another one the chance to buy Rapid instead. Because I never bought a 1.0 version and I probably never will. Rapid as it is for now is not useful for my purposes but I may rethink if there is an updated version (resizable, wavetable, multisamples, mac) available. Also I'd like to demo the competitors e.g. Vengeance Sound Avenger first :D

But I demoed it some time (FL Studio 12, Win7, installed on an SSD):

- I didn't like the installer will install both (32+64) since I don't need a 32 bit version

- clicking left on a preset in the preset browser opens the info box -> this info does not close itself and even sticks on top if I move the ui window
- all presets took way too much time loading (5-15 seconds) and Rapid blocked the host during this
- I could not find a way to adjust the phase of the unison voices and therefore the unison sounded horrible (regardless of detune and spread) -> it had this spike at the beginning where all the phases align
- it would be nice if the modulation matrix would display the name I already chose for the macro controllers instead of macro 1, 2 & 3
- the preset Arp Progressive Reaction has a macro called Drive but it doesn't see to be linked to some effect -> it's just a empty insert
- I found no option that disables the tooltips -> they are pretty annoying after 10 minutes
- sometimes the text writes out of its bounds -> macro controller something with "g" oder "y"
- when a knob has a macro assigned and the amount tweaked -> moving the knob with the mouse and a red flickering appeared sometimes
- how can more fx-types be assigned to one osc?
- some presets like Pad Ambient Pad 2 take up to 10% cpu on my i7 machine when playing a single note... ...and you were complaining about Serum ;)

- as I've already foreseen, the ui is too small on my screen -> especially the font is hardly readable
- can Rapid be resold? That's also one major thing when I buy software, the licence transfer fee, ...
In case it hase been overseen :D I'd like to add that a global readout would have been nice. Just a visual feedback while tweaking the knobs.

It can create some awesome/interesting/thick/vibrating timbres especially if you can use it for all parameters and/or using osc or samples as source. 65Hz is a bit lame.
So this synth is not for me.
I also like the other way, LFO's which are very slow and goes way under 0.01Hz.
It's an important part for me in terms of sound design.

Okay, very interessting. Do you have a soundexample for me how that sounds like, so i can better imagine it.

wagtunes wrote:So be warned. It's a slow server and if you have a slow speed connection, leave a lot of time for downloading the factory sounds.
The bottleneck is always the slower party. If someone is downloading on a slow connection, it doesn't somehow become significantly slower just because the server is slower than the internet connection you personally used :). So, supposing similar server operation and someone having a slow speed connection, it will either be just as slow as it would be on a faster server - downloader connection being the bottleneck - or just as slow as your own experience - server connection being the bottleneck.

Parawave did a really good job with this synth. Just a little out of my price range for the moment, but really cool synth. I like the GUI also. Has it's own thing going on there.

great job Parawave team, a round robin random cycle between layers could be interesting for simulate some analog voices( think oberheim 8 )
good luck with the release!

It appears the only manual is online. For the future, a PDF would be really great.

Anyway, ready to dive in.
