Which softsynth do you like to use the most?

I just remembered two other respected developers that aren't there: Lin Plug and Rob Papen. So: Blue, Predator, Blade, Albino, CronoX, Spectral, Morphox. So, in the end, the "other" will win, almost for certain.

I wish people would say "VSTi" when referring to plugin instruments.
Or simply "plugin instruments". Then AUs, AAXs, etc would be included.
I wish...
A bit like referring to LCD displays...
For the record, my favourite plugin instrument is HALion.
My favourite plugin effect is Waves TG12345.

Not forgetting Waldorf's Largo...chk071 wrote:For example. I don't think you listed Waldorf Largo yet.melodyz wrote:As your goto synth?chk071 wrote:You still missed a gazillion of synths.

My "goto" synth would be Reaktor. But that really doesn't count because Reaktor is the framework on which synths are built, not a synth in and of itself.melodyz wrote:As your goto synth?chk071 wrote:You still missed a gazillion of synths.
So it would be Reaktor > Razor or Monark or Prism or some nifty little step sequencer I built for myself.

Lots of really old things in this list ( Surge, Symptohm, etc ) A bit odd. I voted 'other', though the FM8 is the one I use the most in the list.

I agree about some of the synths on the list being old or not really something most people go and grab but I wanted to consider everyones opinion so I added more to the list.

That's a cool synth imo. You can go cuckoo messing with the modulation capabilities on that. The four windows. Plus, that's one rare synth where I'm in love with the reverb and delay.chk071 wrote:For example. Speaking of Christmas. My favorite synth consists of samples of small homeless children crying. I invite them over for Christmas and give them toys and gifts. All of the toys require 9V batteries but I only have old Rayovac D cells, not even alkaline. When they complain I just tell them that mommy and daddy will give them a 9V battery just as soon as they get home. They all start crying on cue like little bitches, every...single...time.dea-man wrote:I mostly use a fine tooth comb, wrapped with a bit of tissue paper, from last Christmas.
It's my favorite VST, VSTi and effect or processor.
How come my synth isn't on the list?

Too many are left out of the list here, but if i had to vote it would be for the "other" synth as it has more FM/AM/PM capabilities than most alarm clocks in the world put together.
Truth.
Truth.
