Didn't it gave you an option for 32 or 64-bit? I think you have to re-run the installer.
Hi and thanks. I just updated my post. ^^^ :)

If you get the installer from the Cakewalk website, in your account, you get an option to install 32-bit or 64-bit. I didn't see that option when you install it via the Command Center. I guess it installs the Version which applies to your OS then, 32- or 64-bit.
That seems to be how it works. Looking forward to trying this thing out.

Yes, but you have an option to keep the installer, and if you do, you can re-run it, and then get the option to install 32-bit or 64-bit.

To see all installer setup dialogs when running an installer from the Command Center, enable the verbose install option in the setup screen. Click the gear in the upper right to open the Command Center setup. I do not know if this is available on a Mac, I do not have one to test.

Thanks for the heads up and thank you Cakewalk! Always been curious about this 2A emulation. It's highly regarded by some. I now have the IK one, the Native Instruments one and this one. Sweet.

It's definately one of the best la2a emu. First time i saw this give away, i thought cakewalk is mad or crazy or something like that.

I already had the Command Centre app installed as I recently bought Rapture Session. It wanted to do an update to the app before I could proceed which included a restart - otherwise it was a breeze.

Damn this sounds great! Does some serious 'glue' ing on drum buses.

Thanks Cakewalk :tu:

It's worth watching the video. There's stuff in there you might not notice by just glancing at the GUI. This Plug-in is awesome. :)

I like it! I had to place a limiter at the end of the signal chain after a considerable amount of compression within CA-2A, which seems to have a noticeable amount of attack. Anyone else notice this?

I tried it on a snare and got something similar to yourself (I think). Then I moved on to vocals and it was killer. Have you tried the different modes yet? They are shown in the video above. Have you tried the compress/Limit switch etc ...

Really? I have it but for some reason I haven't used it a lot. I prefer Waves CLA-2A. I haven't used the hardware LA-2A so I can't say which one is the best emu.

Kush Audio’s Gregory Scott opionion is that it doesn't sound like the real thing:

"The CA-2A is a very useful tool, but I’d have to respectfully say that of all the things it’s not, it’s not an LA-2A. You can clearly hear that the attack is fast, fast enough that it reminds me of typical plugin comps that behave like classic VCA comps (SSL and DBX being the most ubiquitous). It makes the drums sound ‘spanked’ and aggressively punchy… this is a very cool sound, but it’s not an LA-2A, and tests on various other sources confirmed that it’s simply a fast-ish limiter with a nice punch. Also, much like the original LA-2A plugin released by UA many moons ago, it makes no attempt to model the distortions, so turning up the Gain knob simply makes things louder. Again, this is a cool tool, but if you’re after the geniune LA-2A magic, it’s not in the same vein as the other models here." http://www.attackmagazine.com/features/ ... -hardware/
Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.
