It's worth watching the video. There's stuff in there you might not notice by just glancing at the GUI. This Plug-in is awesome. :)
I thought you were being sarcastic but indeed, top right corner little arrow... Thanks!

I cannot believe that I can't be bothered to get this.
I know I have the Waves one, the T-Racks one. I also have bx opto and MUJC, Presswerks, elysia alpha and mpressor, Waves api 2500, Pie and Puigchild, Vertigo vsc...
But still, this one is free, innit?
Is there something wrong with me?
If I am cured of GAS, will I have to resign my membership of KVR...?
HELP! :help:

I have a tendency to use drum loops when testing compressors. I'll have to try it out with vocals next time. I've heard of frequency dependent compression ratio for years, but I think I'm just now beginning to understand what that means.

Still, I quite like the results with this in tandem with a nice transparent limiter plugin. You can really bring certain sounds to life with this one. Very nice little freebie. I'll have to do some more research on the LA-2A Leveling Amplifier :tu:

I find this an amazing offer. Thank you Cakewalk!

I got Waves C6 ($49 sale) last week, so maybe not all is lost. :hihi:

Unlike most cake things, the RE of this is fantastic. I'm now forced to get a free copy.

Yes, you've been warned :hihi:

Pity the RE isn't free.

I can't remember what I paid for mine. But one of the few times it went on sale I said "ok, I'll demo it, it can't be anything I don't already have" ....

:bang: :nutter: The matrix will lure you in with that irrational thinking :hihi:

It's a good 'un, thanks Cakewalk :tu:

Well, if it makes you feel better, I can't be bothered either. While I do have some C/R freebies, for the most part, I pass on them because they often don't make it past the next OS install or machine upgrade unless I already have a relationship with the vendor. Since I don't have anything cakewalk, and they only do C/R, I'm not really interested in getting anything cakewalk.

There must be something wrong with me, because I can't be bothered to go through all that effort to get a mixing/mastering plugin. I love producing music and the musical part of it. I barely use mixing effects. There's just something off-putting about working a nice balance and dynamic of instruments and then pushing that into and through some FX-compressor-EQ-transient shaper-limiter-processot-chain to produce a compact mass.

Except that's not really the main use of this compressor. This is more a track compressor (though everyone will use it differently), and is a PART of the process of working a nice balance and dynamic. Don't confuse "mixing effect" with "master bus effect".

This is probably one of the better freebies I've seen in a while. I haven't used it personally yet, but it gets pretty good reviews and is widely known to be high quality. Well worth the trouble, IMO.

Yeah, I feel you. The thing is, the difference between these kinds of effects is often very subtle so the value of having more than a few diminishes rapidly. I just flipped through this article of the 50 best compressors for 2016 and I have at least a half dozen or so of these in my folder.

http://getthatprosound.com/45-of-the-be ... the-world/

Add to that a number of compressors that I like, use a lot, and aren't listed. For me, the time it takes to A/B and really try to appreciate the subtle differences is often not worth all of that hassle for a C/R based product.

OTOH, I will absolutely download a freebie that is just serial, no C/R at all, or iLok/eLicenser and use that to judge you as a dev. Eventide is on my radar these days for the really useful Ultrachannel. Based on that awareness, I became a paid customer this year.

Another dev that I'm now paying attention to, based on this thread, is Klanghelm. I had installed their free compressor before, but, it looked kind of bad and so, at the time, I really didn't give it a chance. However, I just downloaded MJUCjr, which is free, and yeah, it's smooth enough that if it gets some use I might pop for the full plugin.

I try to control GAS, even with freebies because managing them takes time and energy. Sorting through them slows down my workflow. For me, yes it matters if there are more than five to seven of any kind of plugin in a folder. Sure, I can break Compressors up into categories, and I'm close enough that I will have to soon, but, that slows me down as well.

This is worth the download.

Of course, the fact that since I've got back into music production I've had exactly two cakewalk products and both sucked ass might have something to do with, I dunno.

Yeah, I hear ya. And frankly, I don't own or have not used the waves one, but like I said, the RE is bloody fantastic so I'm gonna sucker in.
