Plugin-Alliance CPU spikes / No presets

Hi,
i have some VSTs from "Plug-in Alliance" ...+ some problems with them.
1. CPU spikes
2. No presets available in Bitwig/Maschine2
(The only ones that work 100% are the Unfiltered Audio VSTs. Double thumbs up)
All other cause CPU-spikes in the DAW. + Maschine/Bitwig no presets available.
Cubase........(CPU spikes)
Bitwig.........(CPU spikes + No presets available beside Unfilt.Audio VSTs)
Maschine 2...(CPU spikes + No presets available beside Unfilt.Audio VSTs)
----
Plugin-Alliance is aware of CPU and noise problems in Cubase.(Website/Support/Known Problems)
But... please send them all info about your system, if you also got problems. (Any DAW/OS)
+ please give some feedback here in the thread.
Thanks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here: 1 audio loop + 1 VST (e.g. Distorange) bring the DAW to drop-out...
While a whole bunch of VSTs from other companys will not cause any drop-out.
(Start Plugin-Alliance VST / 0:45 Unfiltered-Audio VSTs / ~1.00 Other VSTs added)
96kHz/24Bit (<-edit)
W10
RME Babyface

Contact PA and ask for an earlier version. Their site support states that if you contact them they will send you links to a previous version(s).
Or, if you are using vst3, try using the vst2 versions.

-There are no old/earlier versions for newer plug-ins. ("legacy installers")Ayorinde wrote:Contact PA and ask for an earlier version. Their site support states that if you contact them they will send you links to a previous version(s).

I have the/some legacy installers.
-Bitwig only can do VST2
-Still no presets available in Maschine/Bitwig..

Other suggestions from them is to not use any USB-drives:
Cubase needs the USB-licencer + removing others didn't help. ..In my case.
The plug-ins are unusable since 2-3 months.
PLEASE POST IF YOU ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS. Thx.

I you have problems with Plugin-Alliance-VST please post about it.
And help get over it.
I got invited by P-Alliance to (beta-)test all their VST...because i fixed another nasty problem.
This here is a chance to collect data and i will send it to them.
..Also... i ran out of bubble-gum.

I did buy plenty of Plugin-Alliance stuff. Mostly all of them generate heavy CPU spikes after a while:
bx_boom!
bx_XL V2
VSC-2
and so on.
I did demo the new bx_rooms and liked it much, but the CPU spikes are so heavy that i did not buy this gem.
It took me a while to realize that the Plugin-Alliance is to blame for those spikes. Now imagine you have already a project running, much plug-ins and then insert 3 of those Alliance vst. This hammers right on your CPU and crushes it.
I did talk to the support. He told me that for some users it would help to pull out a connected USB-Stick from the PC. And yes, this indeed does the job. But imagine what that means for all those VST that need those sticks ; )
I am using Studio One 32bit on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
PS: The legacy versions only do a little less spikes than the newer ones.

"Please take out the authorization stick sir. What? The plugins is not working any more? There you go, no CPU spikes left" : D
Nice.....

Some times I have random IRQ problems that are solved by moving usb to the back of my case inputs..anything that is separate on the board should do..if this helps.lfo2k wrote:BWAHA : Dsoulone82 wrote:PA themselves offer USB stick authorization.lfo2k wrote:I did talk to the support. Most of their plugins still don't work at all with Sierra OSX.
So I have sold them and found alternatives. I won't be going back

That's very sad I have a great collection of Plugin Alliance plugins and I started to have problems recently. I had to turn off all my Brainworx Limiters off to finish my mix. Is it the reason a lot of people are selling their Plugin Alliance stuff ?

a) People sell their stuff because they bought them out of "gas"
b) I'm on win10 and I haven't had any spikes in tracktion or FL studio. I have a babyface pro and run at 44.1k. Not a super low buffer, but 128. I have several. I'm also demoing several.
The only software that continuously spikes that I've owned (and don't anymore) is S-1

I found "some" solution.
1. To post above: In the cubase forum i have found several who have alot problems...
2. My solution to Audio drop-outs/CPUpikes:
A. Subhost in DAW. Bidule.. or Maschine.. or try an other subhost.
By loading Plugin-alliance VST2/3s inside Bidule i just manged to reduce spikes by ~50%
In Maschine load was a bit higher but the spikes didn't produce drop-outs anymore.
B. I transfered all licences to an USB-stick and installed with the new "Plugin-all. installer".
I have/had spikes in Cubase/Bidule the highest with drop-outs
-> better in Maschine (no dropouts)
-> much better in Bidule (50 % reduced peak load on CPU)
This makes my vsts usable again.. and the newer ones sound quite good.
But nothing is alright... still bad performance under normal cicumstances.

edit: And in Bidule is also access to presets..
