You're buying the round ?

I haven't heard such a beautiful filter for a long time (since Roland plug-outs, probably).
Great work, Urs! You can almost feel electricity running through it

ZEBRA 3 PLEASE!

 I mean, when great sounding analog synths start at $500, I can't help but think, "I don't have a hardware version of Zebra." It would be "UNPOSSIBLE," to quote Ralph Wiggum.
Wouldn't you sell it in 3 months and instead of learning it iside out :)))) ?

I DID I DID!

I love Dark Zebra, but it is a bit awkward how the Diva filters are implemented. Really, the only things I can think of that I'd want in a Zebra 3 is a more streamlined interface with a cleaner look (Bazille's is great) and an updated wavetable engine, maybe with wavetable import or even sample to wavetable functionality. (Though I have that in Serum, I'd be fine if I could just bring them in) Throw in Filterscape's morphing filters, with maybe a little update on the algorithms, and I'd be a happy camper. You're right though. Zebra is already a monster, and Dark Zebra even more so, but how would it hurt to ask? ;)

I don't quite get the "sell in three months" comment. I've sold Diva and ACE, but only because I moved to hardware that covers that kind of sound for me and I've only kept plug ins that are either NFR or decidedly digital in their nature. Digital ITB, analog OTB. I've actually sold very few plug ins during my days, and if anything I'm a hoarder.

All Repro-1 except gentle limiting on master.

The reverb is called "Drench" for a reason :hihi:
Wow gorgeous reverb! This is going to be reeeal good.
I bet people beta testing are having a lot of fun.
Let us play with it! :hyper:

With 10 weeks left of the year, maybe time to set a release date :borg:

How about releasing it on Black Friday at 50% off :hyper:

Post

It's not yet even full-feature beta. Probably end of year release if all goes well, from what I can see.

But we should have the option to buy it when the public beta arrives.
But like Zebra3 it could take years after first mention :D
Don't trust any deadline or a "maybe" release day.

The last update we saw from Urs indicated they were shooting for a November release. Not sure if that's the public beta, or final release. However, it would make sense if a public beta hit in a few weeks with a release a few weeks after that.

This is the most excited I've been for a synth release in a long time. I know some folks are dying for Z3, but I'd personally much rather see more "Repro" synths. That's just me though. I'm sure Urs can develop new products and update Zebra at once. It seems like there's quite a few interns and staffers to allow for both. The idea that Urs might be doing a Pro-5 next year, or a Prodigy, or even an Octave Kat (I'd never even heard of that until Urs mentioned it lately - but it looks very cool), is just very exciting for me. I love the idea of having 1:1 reproductions of classic synths at this level of quality/accuracy.

Yeah I agree. But I think they know it. Hopefully maybe the final ZebraHZ update will address this before Zebra3 comes out in 2019-2020.

Well it's historically what Hans wanted.

We'll eventually move the filters up into the module rack though, but we need to refactor (=change some fundamental architecture) some of our codebase to do that.

That will be awesome when it happens. Basically the grid module needs to support more than 28 (right?) modules at any time, IIRC?
