I believe they just want to promote their product(s) + get new potential customers to install Command Center on their computers.
Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

Ok, my bad.

That's probably true and as I said perhaps they are just being altruistic. However there has been at least one developer who released a previously commercial product for free and used it to check user's systems. I'm not saying that is what's happening here but it does stay in the back of my mind. For the record I tried to install the non Command Center version and as I also said I may try to install it on this system just to see if it's something I really like.

If in doubt, better just leave the plug alone
Lol :) It's a download from the official site of the company... how would a audio plugin harm your computer? If then, Teksonik's Bitdefender settings are too strict. But then, why bother? In the meantime, i just enjoy the plugin... this is the third time or so though that i read about him complaining about a security risk which is none. Something about his security is shitz.

On a completely unrelated note if anyone is still running Win 7 ( I passed on the Win 10 update on my studio computer due to audio card drivers) and is having the "Stuck Searching for Updates" issue I just manually ran KB 3172605 and 17 updates were found in about five seconds. They are downloading and installing there now. Update search could get stuck for hours on some systems (some reported it ran overnight and still found nothing). Anyway the solution worked for me if anyone else is having update issues......... :)

Ok, that's good to know.

Btw, just noticed that CA-2A (which I purchased back in 2014) runs now in demo mode. :?

edit: I just had to open Command Center and that "upgraded" the plugin.

So was the plugin I mentioned earlier that sneakily scanned people's system who installed the freeware. If you don't understand an installer can inject malware without you knowing it then I'm afraid you are simply naive. Something about your security sucks but hey if you can't be good you better be lucky. I've already explained why I am overly cautious about my studio computer if you are having problems comprehending that it's not my fault.

Exactly

Why bother about other users bothering ?

A user reported about problem on his setup.

That happens all the time

Why did that make a big fuzz for other users?

The important thing is to enjoy it yourself, and not get hung about other users issues.

If the plug is good, the loser is the user not taking advantage of the offer, aint that so.

And you do think a plugin downloaded from Cakewalk's site could harm your computer?

Because this is pretty ridiculous.

And do you know for sure it can't ? Do you blindly trust everyone ? Dangerous in today's world. Look I've already explained my position why don't you just accept it and shut the f**k up ? What's ridiculous is your obsession about my position on security.

Try to understand...this isn't a virus warning is not a false positive. It's a Ransomware warning letting me know something is trying to access my protected folders. I chose not to let that .exe access folders on my studio computer. Get over it......
It's quite obviously a false positive. It really does not matter what module triggered it - it's still a virus warning. It's generated most likely because the mentioned program is a code injector (a technique malware also uses) and has nothing to do with trying to access your files.

But of course, better safe that sorry.
