Do we get time sync on the reverb predelay? Looking in the video it seems so. I put in a feature request with Nexus and the reply I got was as if they didn't understand why.

This is now officially my most anticipated synth ever! It contains almost everything I've ever wanted in a synth and is ridiculously flexible. The FX section is done exactly the way I've always asked developers to implement it. Well done guys. Bloody well done!!!

Wow, that thing looks and sounds promising. Great job!

The negative predelay function for drums is brilliant. I wished Geist had that, because I doubt I'd use Avenger as a drum sequencer - it's certainly nice for demo videos or for laying down a quick beat for prototyping, but for real life use the sequencer is probably too rudimentary. But I don't really mind, Avenger obviously has a lot more to discover besides the drums section.

It's also awesome that you guys upload so many videos about the respective sections of Avenger, with sound demos and all. That's really good PR. :tu:

Very true... Most devs just leave tumbleweeds up on youtube. Vengeance are doing a great job. :tu:

Will Avenger be 10-touch capable and touch-friendly?

Did I notice that the delay ping pong has a it gets wider or narrower as it pings, pongs? is that what you were describing there? I've wanted this for so long as a simple feature not having to use a multi tap or place the delays manually.

Are there any plans to incorporate Avenger in NI Kontrol?

...you mean like having a controller template? I thought a lot about that and that would be great, but it probably would depend on what scale a controller integration should happen or down to which level this template should go, respectively. This synth seems to be a sound designer's dream and it begs that one explores its depths, but I'm sceptical, if this will be possible with a controller. It'll probably a huge amount of work and for a number of reasons I think, it's questionable, if an adequate depth of control could be feasible. Firstly, Avenger has a ton of controls - they probably go up into the thousands and grouping these into blocks of eight in a meaningful and manageable way seems almost impossible to me. For instance - and only if all of them are supposed to be operated with a controller - just one oscillator module easily seems to have about two dozens of controls - for just one oscillator. That would be three pages on a Kontrol-S keyboard, for all eight oscillators, it would 24 pages. And the effects, filters and shapers aren't more simple either.

Then it has a lot of context menus and also controls that are designed to be used with a mouse (graphical envelopes & eq, arpeggiator etc). And I don't think that some controls, e.g. the tab buttons to change the views, could be controlled with an external controller (well, it probably would be possible to include these in the automation id list, although it would be a bit unorthodox). So, we'd always have to reach for the mouse, if we'd wanted to have some visual feedback, which is quite desirable for such a compley synth. And lastly, I guess, the biggest issue would be its largely modular structure, that would make creating a comprehensive controller map next to impossible (effect routing, mod matrix) - for instance, one preset uses a compressor in the first fx slot and another a chorus at that position. And both effects probably have different automation ids for their controls, so I think, it wouldn't be possible to create a template that could control both.

I thought a lot about that while observing the videos and this thread and I guess, it all might come down to the single user to create serveral controller maps for himself for different scenarios. But who knows - this synth is so surprising, maybe these two also have some controller templates up their sleeves...

Maybe this has been talked about... Phalanx is preset-heaven. Not only the bank and the pad presets, but the Amp, Filter and Pitch sections have their own handy preset browser. The arp, trancegate, effect, etc have tons of presets.

My workflow in Phalanx is: browse my samples (with the arrow keys - brilliant!), browse the factory and my own presets of the different sections. And in no-time I've got what I want.

Do the different sections in Avenger have presets? And can I easily browse through their preset lists?

Post

yes, its nearly the same
