Great to see something new from Voxengo!

I liked the sound of V1 Marquis !
The (by far) most used plugins in my projects are Gliss EQ and Deft compressor !

So Im pretty sure I will like this new release :tu:

Perhaps I missed it, but what are the new equivalents to the Param 1, 2 and 3 knobs from v1?

My thing with Voxengo is that there is so much choice and the differences are not clear. Do I want this, or Deft, or Crunchessor, or or...? I'm after an all-rounder vca/fet style channel compressor that's modern and edgy and aggressive sounding with a very authoritative control over the dynamics , comparable perhaps to Blockfish..

None. Legacy modes now use internally fixed release contour parameters, so certain legacy "sounds" can't be replicated in the new version. I've removed these parameters because from my current point of view they increase complexity with only a minor benefit. I have to follow market, so to say.

You can try them. I do not design compressors after old school types-there's plenty of replicas available already. Marquis 2 is pretty aggressive in a good way and can be edgy if you add some drive.

So new version but not Auto Release (as "Universal" deserve it!) ..?

;-)

BTW one of the best virtual comp!

Thanks. There's no "universal" formula for auto release exists. "Auto release" usually means developer-offered way to automate the release parameter, it may or may not sound good in a particular situation.

So why don't you simply download and test these great plugins on your own settings, your own workflow and your own sensibilites. And then pick one or more that fit best for you. Simple, best of all and demo is free to try..

Well it's a question of time, and also geeky curiosity to know the dev's specific technical intentions behind each comp. I know that he's basically a genius and so his own insight would be very valuable.

I'm definitely trying Marquis over the weekend... it seems to have the right vibe and might just well be exactly what i'm looking for :)

Was Marquis the SSL bus comp?
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

No, but its T3 mode models some analog circuit.

Thanks for the reply Aleksey.

Is it just me or is this thread missing posts suddenly?

Tried the demo and really like this compressor. Definitely getting this when funds allow.

This new version is indeed very flexible. I find it very transparent with typical compressor settings but I'm able to get plenty of colour on drums or electric bass if I crank the amp and drive settings. I takes whatever I throw at it without any undesirable artifacts. I find the new control layout simpler to grasp than the previous 3 parameter design.

I'm happy to see Aleksey renewing these bread and butter FX. I hope he revisits the modulator/delay area again sometime - I really loved the Analog Flux set - the chorus and Delay particularly and the Vintage Modulator.
