hy
been using vsti's for a long time now and i havent find a sequener that can do what i want:
for example if i load ni battery i would like to edit all the parameters through one screen(piano roll)..enter notes, velocities, pitch changes(in a velocitiy like manner not like draving curves) and all other paramethers that can be edited for that vsti...and all that on one screen...in flstudio for examples u have to open new "edit event" for every automatable parameter and that greatly disrupts my working flow
do u understand what i mean?
or if i work with pro-53...
when im in piano roll after i enter the notes i would like to add some slides, some filter changes etc without leaving the piano roll
is there a sequencer that can do this for a vsti other than for its internal plugins...
thanx
ps: this way i feel those vsti's were never fully implemented in the sequencer enviroment
ps2:maybe NI should do those sequencers too

You basically want automation in piano roll instead on track view, if I understand correctly, right? I don't remember seeing a sequencer that works like this... except Reason, but that's not VST compatible. It is usually possible to write MIDI messages/automation directly in piano roll, so if plug-in supports midi automation you can use it like that (you just need to know VST's midi map). Otherwise I don't know...

Not sure what you mean by this.Buka wrote:enter notes, velocities, pitch changes(in a velocitiy like manner not like draving curves) and all other paramethers that can be edited for that vsti...
Otherwise, Project 5 seems to me like it would do it for you.

try tracktion, any parameter can be edited on any track (including the same one you're editing midi notes on). also give eXT a look. not quite what you asked for but it's automation editing is damn fine :)

In ORION you can do it for pattern automation but not for song automation.

I'll second the Tracktion vote(or whatever it is). With Tracktion, the entire workspace is on one screen. You can view your piano roll, automation curves, audio, wiring of racks, mixing tools, etc., all at one time. And most of it is just drag and drop. So you can have access to anything that can be controlled without leaving the screen. Of course, Tracktion may not be what you are looking for, but it does what you ask, unless I'm mistaken. Good luck! Cheers!

Idea one: if you're using FL, use native synths as often as possible.
Idea two: use a tracker with VST-support. This will allow you to edit your automation in one-shot bursts right along-side you notes like you want, although it would not be a piano roll.

Get renoise - it has both the traditional tracker per-note automation, but you can also draw per-pattern automation curves for any paramter including synth and FX parameters, volume, panning etc.Rellik wrote:Idea one: if you're using FL, use native synths as often as possible.

Not bad for $45, including bunch of built-in FX.

Have you tried Podium? It has a hierarchal mixing engine, so (it looks from the screenshots) all the paramters you want to automate are all visible at once in separate rows (or just the ones you want to see) in thet track view.

As Bones already said. ORION has this functionality as you describied here.Buka wrote: or if i work with pro-53...

I know exactly what you mean.
Try EnergyXT. Down load the demo and do the following...
Open EnergyXT in your host.
Click sync on the right hand side.
Right click and open Midi Part.
Right Click and add Battery.
Link the white box of the "master in" to the whitw box on the top of the Midi Part. Connect the midi part out to Barrery in then Battery's out to "Master out".
At the bottom there is a "CC" button. Pick "add view".
Rename and change the cc to suit what you are doing.
Click "fike" then "composer". When another cllum comes up select "composer" from the drop down list.
Things to remember:
Hold down "alt" when adding note and automation.
Click "part" and "new" for adding additional patterns.
"x" toggles snapping on and off.
I have the above set up as a preset (only that I use VSampler instead of Battery) so I only had to set it up once. I can honestly say its the fastest, most immediate way of programming beats because everything is on one screen. Have a play and see
