why do you keep everything so mysterious and turbid. Can't you just tell if Muzys is on hold or not .. or that you just stopped developement of it ... or that you are not allowed to talk about it.. just something more concrete one-directional and less vague.
From everything I heard/read here I can not make any meaning >>>it just could mean anything in either direction.
I - and most other people here - always loved Muzys (and still do) but it is not up to par with current "technical" standards and wishes/requirements (like harddiskstreaming). So that's the most important reason I'm using it less. It would be great to see it evoluate; But that's your decision.
The beautifull feature of software is that you can grow with it in contradiction with some hardware you buy. Software grows and evoluate and gets better while your standing next to it. In the case of Muzys it gets something symbiotic because it gets extensions and adjustments to meet the users needs, growing out of discussions and feedback.
Software that doesn't grow anymore is in a mysterous way dying. I also used Myzys because of what it was going to be!
Perhaps that is a reason you put back your steps; the constant presure of demanding people, and the pressure of solving problems.
I just hope Muzys can arize again.
Besides the windows version has a nasty but when you activate Follow (F) >>> crash
I hope you are doing fine.
Thanks
K

Well OK then. This is the most solid piece of news in almost a year. Many of us were speculating about some kind of non-disclosure arrangement you may have signed with a company that might have bought into Muzys. This pretty much confirms it. It is the piece of the puzzle that helps to fit all the others together. Thanks! And to whomever decided to work with Muzys, GOOD IDEA!!muzycian wrote:This is indeed the reason why i cannot say anything more.kagemusha wrote:... or that you are not allowed to talk about it..
Now I can begin to get excited again. Glad to know you're still at it, Jo.
And no more bugging out about "is Muzys Dead" from me. Promise.

He didn't say anthing about Muzys, he just said he couldn't talk about it. To use Logical reasoningt this point, you don't know who he's working for, on what project..
Who knows, maybe he's with the Prop's now
Maybe he was even hired by Steve to make Logic more intuitive
Let the conspiracy theories help us pass the time till he makes his comeback!

OK, he can't talk about it, fair enough.
For now, we got (more or less) the confirmation that he must be working for/with some third party dev or in some side project. On a follow-up of Muzys? Or he just droped it?
So the bottom line is: should I wait a bit more or should I move to Tracktion right away?
That's what's going on in my mind right now. What about you?
Or maybe we got too much used to the Bill Gates style: making a big noise about a non-existing product...

Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

I feel like I'm about to get burned by Apple again. A year ago or so I was about to buy Logic for my PC. I patiently waited for the next version and saved my money. Then WHAM! Apple bought it and said no more PC version - no more PC support for older versions. Crap. Months pass by - I use my money meanwhile to upgrade to Lightwave 7.5. Eventually I find Muzys and really like it. After a period of playing with it I decide I am ready to buy. But just then the shop closes and I cannot.
Now this news doesn't sound good. Great for Jo. I just see dark clouds on the horizon. Like a new name and higher price. Not that I wouldn't be willing to pay more for new features. I would pay. But I could be wrong and I hope I am.

I dont see how anybody here can be optimistic about there being another Muzys version. It doesnt make sense. If Muzys got bought by another company they would sure as hell keep the store open.
When Pinnacle bought Steinberg they still sold Cubase. When Apple bought Emagic they still sold Logic. When Adobe bought Syntrillium they still sold Cool Edit. When Avid bought Digidesign they still sold Pro Tools. When Mackie got the distribution for Raw Materials they still sold Tracktion. Its absurd to think that theres a new Muzys version coming out. Even a whole new sequencer with a different name by Jo would be unlikely. They would have kept selling Muzys and provided a cross-grade path or something.
I think this is bullshit how Jo is keeping you guys hanging. Most likely he's working for Ableton or Emagic or something and isnt allowed to talk about it cuz the companies are afraid their products will be associated with Muzys. Thats the only thing that could make even a little sense.

Uh, why would those companys be afraid to be associated with Muzys!? Do you find the program evil or what?AD80 wrote: and isnt allowed to talk about it cuz the companies are afraid their products will be associated with Muzys. Thats the only thing that could make even a little sense.

Perhaps it may be a legal tactic to avoid having to fulfill Muzys's "lifetime of free upgrades" obligation?Crackbaby wrote:Uh, why would those companys be afraid to be associated with Muzys!?
