and anyway, even WITH genres, NERD doesnt have one ounce of "punk" in them!!!

prince is black and uses guitars, does that mean HE's punk hop too?

Once again you guys crack me up. Which one of you can play any of the many instruments that Prince plays 1/4 as good as he can. Ho has had the #1 movie,album and song at the same time? Who has numerous number 1 hits not only for himself but material written for many other artists? You guys discount artists not because of their talent but because you don't like their music. It is not the same. Prince is one of the most balanced all around musicians in history when in comes to playing,composition/arrangement and song writing. I like some of Prince's music, some i don't but I cannot deny that he is indeed talented. Anyway, you guys keep supporting the "great" music that you write and post here. We'll just agree that anyone that you don't like is a shitty artist or any genre of music that you don't like is obviously crap.

it's crap for the one who doesn't like it, yes.. it would be very weird if music was great for someone who thinks it's crap

as mentioned before.. we should start adding "in my opinion" although for me it's clear people always mean "in my opinion" because people here give their opinion, not someone else's

I've played guitar stuff from prince so I know what an accomplished guitarist he is (other instruments I can't talk about, but according to other people, he's very good at some other instruments as well)..

same goes for arrangements, but again, I can only talk about guitar.

I do have my doubts about his compositions though. but that's my taste

so here goes.. I think Prince is a talented musician but in my opinion a lot of his compositions are crap

Nah...I don't mind NERD. Bit nothingy for punk, and a bit funkless for my kinda hip-hop. Still, doesn't make me screech for the cd to be burned upon a rosy cross.

I wouldn't buy it.

Prince is crap. If he pulled his head out of his arse long enough to actually look and listen to the stuff he's written, he'd prob agree. Same goes for Jimi Hendrix. Anyone ever heard him play an acoustic set.....?
