Well, any grievance I had about the FX section, quickly disappeared when I discovered the Sub.
This is like a second OSC (or sublayer), tweak a patch into a fifth, or run two separate arp lines for interesting results
And that is only a layer, in UVI workstation, a user can stack lots of layers on one midi channel to play some crazy complex stuff with one finger

Anyone else get a barrage of 'Couldn't load the file' errors trying to access 4-FM and Formant -> Flutes -> KS8-Funny Pipe using Falcon ?

Are these just samples of hardware synths or is there some actual synthesis going on?

Good spotting, got the same error in UVI Workstation:
Couldn't load the file '$Synth Anthology II.ufs/Samples/4-FM and Formant/Flutes/KS8-FunnyPipe/...
KS8-Funny Pipe-C1.wav
KS8-Funny Pipe-G1.wav
KS8-Funny Pipe-C2.wav
..etc
Might have been funny if it aint been an error

anyone tested it, i barely used synth antology 1 since Vintage vault, but i am very interested in V2 and the new dave smith and korg synths.
Do retailers also offer the upgrade or is it only on uvi ?
It looks like both versions have 9GB so where are the 500 new patches ?

Got some clarification from the sound design team.mcbpete wrote:otristan: Is everything that was in V1 also available in V2 or do we have to have both installed to get all the synths? In the list of synth on the Synth Anthology 2 page it doesn't seem to list a lots of synths featured in Synth Anthology 1 (e.g. just comparing the first two manufactures there's no sign of the Roland SH101 & JD990, Yamaha CS60, CS15, CS40-M, CS70M, DX1, TX816 )
There were very few presets of those and they has been removed as there was not up to the quality we wanted for this second version.
CS70 sounded way better than the other CS stuff for example.
So clarification, SA2 do not included everything which was in version 1.
My bad.

Version 1 was 9GB in wav, this one is 8.22GB (FLAC lossless encoding, was 15.7GB in WAV)sacer wrote: It looks like both versions have 9GB so where are the 500 new patches ?
Hope this clarify things.

In the browser there are 10 categories, of which no 10 is "Sorted by Categories"
I miss category no 11 "Sorted by Synthesizer". Now I can see no possibility to quickly get access to all the patches for one particular of the included synths?
Another thing I miss is the possibility to set the value of pitch accuratly, now when turning the semi wheel, I can only get it to be 6.72 or 7.3. To make a fifth I need to set the value at 7.0

if you use the search features once indexed in the browser, you can type the first letter of the synth name and get what you are looking for.
You can Double click the knob and enter 7 for the pitch no ?

I am getting CPU spikes (and audible clicks) when operating the filter (first patch for example). I am running in Falcon on an i7 4Ghz- don't have an issue with analogue patches/filter, just the filter on sample playback like Synth Anthology (I was expecting less CPU use than VA Falcon patches with samples!)
Its OK when set to a filter frequency, seems to be whilst moving.....
Tried in BWS and S1 3 - same in both (worst in S1)

X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
