My first impression with Lady J's opening question was that she was just throwing us a bone to see whether folks would toss off Punk Hop, purely based on preconcieved musical bias/prejudices/whatever, rather than actually making the effort to feel the empassioned, emotional human undercurrents.

*No* music has anything of value to communicate without some living soul imparting life to it, no?

So what *is* music appreciation all about anyroad? Is it just getting all giddy over musical elements, or is it having empathy for another human being's struggles, hopes, dreams, ambitions...

I mean blimey, I love music and all...I would hate to be without it. But it's all pissing up a rope if we can't feel the heart behind it.

I'm not sure if many people here actually appreciate music as a whole. There seem to be a few people who appreciate all kinds of music and can find some artistry in the various forms of music. Then there seems to be the crew that think just about eveything is shit. I'm beginning to wonder if they also think their own music is shit

I have always been able to find the art in just about anything whether that be Lyle Lovett or Kool G. Rap and DJ Polo. I know it's opinion based but how does one form the opnion that so many artists and types of music are shit? Maybe I'm a just a music junkie and will take a hit of anything to get a musical high.

Think deeper the song is simplt meant to illustrate a series of events deemed disheartning to the kid. Many teens feel that everything is going wrong in a difficult period in life and sometimes what we see as a minor event is just another evidence that life isn't worth it.

Is anyone feeling Punk-Hop?
