It depends if it states that the license is NFR or not. For example, u-he says the licenses don't become NFR while Reaper says that the licenses are NFR.iPlogger wrote:How does NFR work? Can I resell it if I have not used the license? I bid on Ableton Live Intro, and now am thinking of also bidding for Standard and just want to know what I can do should I have high bids on both. Will I be able to sell Intro or at least be able to give it to a non-profit? Sorry for the late timed question. I only just thought of possibly bidding on Standard.
It says in the beginning, that all licenses 'considered' NFR but IMO, you judge it yourself

I had read that, so I'm assuming by default, they are NFR. But I just wasn't sure how it's handled if I haven't used the license. I guess I'll just take my chances and whatever outcome happens, happens. Thanks for the info.EnGee wrote:It says in the beginning, that all licenses 'considered' NFR but IMO, you judge it yourself

IMO, if you never used the license, it's not a "resell" because it will be a first hand registration by the new user. But with licenses, sometimes rules are diferent.iPlogger wrote:I had read that, so I'm assuming by default, they are NFR. But I just wasn't sure how it's handled if I haven't used the license. Depends on vendor.iPlogger wrote:I had read that, so I'm assuming by default, they are NFR. But I just wasn't sure how it's handled if I haven't used the license. If the licenses are being handed out directly by the vendor after the sale they are usually licensed to you at point they send you your download links.
This is how I have seen it handled for other similar things where vendors contribute software to a cause.
