they should at least use something like iLok that is not only somewhat less likely to turn off their servers, but also allows you to transfer a licence to a dongle so that you are not tied to their servers at all.

of course its risky and we had a lot of discussion here, but we decided to try out this option after sooo many people told us, they dont like dongles and even if a software gets cracked they still purchase originals, since they want to be honest, get support, updates etc.
I hope we wont get dissapointed with this decision. I can understand why a dongle can be a problem if you produce with laptops in aboard a train, on a plane etc...

The news just keeps getting better around this monster of a synth. Awesome!

My top reason for not liking the dongles is that I constantly move between home and work.. and at both places I have a computer intended for music production. At work I mainly mix/master/sound design but at home I also sometimes feel like composing and just generally enjoy playing. I _never_ commute with the dongles (I got a really bad scare when I lost my original iLok for a day) and thus all the software that is on a dongle gets only used at work, which is a shame.

Please let us know when the next beta stage hits.. I'd love to pay for the synth in advance and start creating some sounds for it.

I'm delighted I won the charity auction (along with two others).

I'm also delighted that it doesn't use an e-licenser, but I'd not mind an ilok.

Anyway, besides it's all for charity, so I don't really mind either ways. It's all good!

+1 now the few anti dongle kiddies experienced they just have to nag long enough the weak dev to get what they want good thing is there will be a unlimited demo version as soon as it got cracked... but why not testing a new copy protection first with a low budget plugin?

Have you tried to look for a cracked copy of a U-he plugin? No dongles there...

Manuel would you consider in Future updates a monthly payment fee like Steve did with Serum or other companies are doing ? in my opinion this was a great move because a lot of people saw this as a option to get Serum, instead of downloaded illegally and helping people who cant really afford it so they have to torrent it .
