Ok Guitarists,
I've been looking all over the net for tab for this song. Does anyone have it. I could work it out myself but it would take awhile and i kind of need it in a hurry. I've already worked out the main lick but that was easy. what i need are the chords and stuff.

Guitar tab, m'Lady?! :o

And here I had you pegged as the Conservatory trained type. 8) :D

Seriously though, you are probably wanting the notes for that lead guitar part, correct? The basic chords were pretty simple changes...kind of a B minor, A, G thing.

Long shot here, but I will dig through some stuff I have stashed about. Loved the band. Always liked this tune as well...

Are We Ourselves?

Lost feelings return
So maybe I can learn
To stop this world of a lie
This time around

Are we, are we ourselves?
Are we, are we ourselves?

Because seen through these eyes
We lead a double life
No one will know
So check it out steppin' out here I go

Are we, are we ourselves?
Are we, are we ourselves?

Well, lost spirits return
So maybe I can learn
To stop this world of a lie
To this earth we are bound I ask you

Are we, are we ourselves?
Are we, are we ourselves?

*sigh* Yes indeed...we all have a past...

I had no luck googling for it either. probably could've had it figured out myself in the time i spent.

The Fixx! :hail:

sorry, can't help you either. I have a question though:
I've been looking for WHAT ABOUT THE ROCK (the album) on CD all over the freakin' planet but I just can't find it. Does somebody know where to get it?
I used to have it on vinyl but somebody parked his ass on it years ago (really!) and broke it...

I think it's a Bm kind of a thing. Riff starting on the open B string with the 2 back strat pickups. Riff plays over Bm then A to G (Saved by Zero part).

The chorus part is just Bm to G I believe. If you have a strat try strumming the strings on the back side of the nut to get that sparkly sound, (kind of the opposite type of thing happens at the end of "Oh Darling" on Abbey Road where one of the Beatles(John?) arpeggiates a chord on the back side of the bridge, which is amazingly in-tune). 8)

...sorry lass, no luck here after all.

Blimey, the dust and cob webs in my attic...

Not a complete wasted effort though...I happened on my old Moog ribbon controller. :hyper:

Ah...you sure about that record, mate? Never heard of a Fixx album by that name, myself.

Might explain why your having a bit of a tough go finding it, though. :hihi:

"Reach the Beach" featuring really nice clean, highly compressed strat work and lots of cool synth sounds.

I think I have the tune in a 80s song book...but I didn't bring to work w/me.

The Fixx is probably my favorite band from that decade. I used to listen to Phantoms while I tried to finish my semester programming projects in one weekend. I still listen to the Fixx anytime I need to write a lot of code fast 8)

yeah Eric,

phantoms is quite cool !
I think they started going downhill album-wise after walkabout,
but they are still a fantastic live band with a world class singer even today...their 2 latest cd efforts, which i think are pretty lame, sound absolutely fantastic live, singer puts so much emotion in his voice...
i'm hoping they will release a live dvd...

Yeah me too..... Funny thing is any other title by The Fixx is available anywhere it seems.

The Song Walk About f**ks me up I guess because I remember them singing "Walk About The Rock". 20 years of alcohol starts to mess up my brain. What About or Walk About........ :hihi:

Bottom line is THE FIXX rules!

Agreed. Walkabout was the last great one, but I bought them all (as long as nothing came after Calm Animals and Ink).

The first thing I ever tried to do with a virtual syth (Reason Maelstorm) was the intro to Deeper and Deeper. Got it close, but never got it as cool as the original.

I did see them live once in Boulder, CO. I went with my whole band (circa 1985). We were all big fans and we were still blown away.

But, the biggest travesty of the 80s ws the Fixx openning for Flock of Seagulls at Red Rocks
