I feel very compelled to lift the idea of a "stand by during silence" option off of the other great emulation that came out recently.
Ok, but you do get my point though I hope if one had ten such plugins or instances in a project. The cpu would be giving issues before one note is even played.

Well, I'll be doing more extensive testing over the weekend for sure... Proper audio interface, try my other DAWs, look for errant background processes and memory consumption, and so on.

Can't wait to get Repro installed. Thanks Urs :hyper:

i have an HP desktop from 2010 with a Core2 Quad Q9505 @ 2.83gHz.

Windows 7, Ableton Live 9.5 - using one instance of 'RePro-1' is showing roughly 35%. it generally stays around there (though can spike up to around 55% with all fx enabled), no problem going through all the patches.

oddly enough, i'm also (finally) trying out 'The Legend' at the same time. adding one instance of that seems to cause no change on the CPU meter. with both of them running/playing (as well as the 'Maschine' plug-in) it still shows 35%. if i disable 'RePro-1' it drops down to 18%. if i then disable 'The Legend', it's still showing the same 18% or so ('Maschine', plus whatever channel and send fx). if i disable Maschine it drops right down to about 3%. ...

- fx only: 3%
- 'Maschine' only: 18%
- 'The Legend' only: 13% (15% with fx enabled)
- 'RePro-1' only: 34% (up to 49% with 'Jaws enabled, 57% with all fx enabled)
- stays at 57% when introducing both 'The Legend' and 'Machine'

odd, though i do know that Ableton's CPU meters don't quite tell the whole story. either way, i'm pretty satisfied with the performance that i get out of this old HP desktop.

You guys talking about cpu issues made me nervous. Seems to be about 19-20% on this end. A little bit more for some of the heavier patches, and that's with a bunch of other effects and processors running. I can live with that, whereas I could not really live with Diva or something like the Softube modular. I've been down this road before and I know that what seems like a heavy load now, will probably be like nothing a computer or two down the road. But in the meantime, I think it's very usable (at least for me). So, a big thank you to Urs and team. You guys have just handed back to me my old Pro One, and that brings back many memories and makes me very happy. :tu:

Can you run 6 or more instances without glitching? I was seeing up to 25% usage for a single instance in my DAW but only 35% or so for 8 instances, so don't trust your DAW's CPU meter. Try to max it out in terms of glitches, and how many instances it took to make those happen.

I've had a 2600k since they came out like 5 or so years ago and never had a problem with any synth ever.

What I've noticed is that at least half of the CPU usage comes from the built in effects. The "bypass fx" button is your friend. I wish every synth I own had one. Disabling the effects on a global scale is one of the ace features of RePro1.

Really love the sound! How many patches should come with the final version?

no multiplier on the LFO when synced to host?

When synced to host you need the "Clock" setting which also works for the Arp. The clock settings go from 8/1 to 1/64.

To me it seems weird that the LFO rate is dependent on the SEQ rate ( if both are host synced ), should have its own multiplier - the knob is there.
