Dude, you just talk out of your A**, coming on here dictating something is better than
something else when you don't even post any music you've done with your superior arsenal.
so just STFU.
I added that it is my opinion, you dumb idiot.

Dunedain:

Go here and register (free).

There you find the Dune-BE version of Dune 1 (free and fully functional (except for the effects), highly recommended!

Problem solved .. :)

It would be pretty obvious to most people that an 'architectural' similarity means absolutely nothing if the components of that architecture behave differently.
I don't think they do for the most part.
Why don't we ask Richard for his opinion. he is on KVR occasionally...

I still have v1 and v2. Both of em are excellent synths imo.
mcnoone, I think you can achieve that via the mod matrix.

But you can modulate an osc with another osc. So you can create an FM sound and use it as modulation source for whatever.
Dune 2 is a beast!

I installed the free version of Dune from the http://www.studiodrive.de website. It appears in my components folder together with the 2 demo versions of the real Dune. However even after a restart of Logic it doesn't show up. Why can't I see it?

I have no idea about either Logic or AU, but i read on Synapse's forum once that there was a problem with AU validation of Dune BE. Could that be the issue?

Also note that Dune BE is 32-bit only. If that should pose an issue.

Hmm, Dune CM is x64.

Quite nice synth, I dumped Synth1 (after over a decade of proud service!) for Dune CM as my low-CPU general purpose poly-VA. Maybe old, maybe magware, but the guys who made it sure knew what they were doing. Simple to use but versatile and powerful. I don't use these kinds of synths so much that I'd want to invest into a current, top shelf commercial option, so having this level of quality for free is very nice.

Cheers Synapse and CM!

Because it got updates unlike the Beat Edition. BE was kind of one-shot.
However, the CM version has half the mod matrix of the full/BE versions.

Ah that must be the case. Logic Pro X is 64 bit only.

So Computer Music got their version of Dune as well? On the monthly cover disc I assume?

Yep. Maybe someone can confirm that there's a Mac 64-bit version on there too. I only can confirm that the Windows version is 32- and 64-bit.
