Because iPads have no 3D touch (just via the pencil).
But my iPhone (the big one) is not that much smaller than a lightblock.
What is great on the touch screen is that you always know where you are because you have a visual feedback of how hard you press in those apps.
But you also can run any iPhone app on iPads but you will just get X and Y axis at the moment and a mono Z if you use the pencil.
They day Apple brings 3D touch to iPads i sell my mac
