135 Euros is a bit (ie. a lot) out of my price range, but it's a good suggestion for other people reading the thread-- Plugsound are too often overlooked for the sheer quantity of sounds they provide.

The search continues...

Lunch Money,

Wizoo has a their own board at KVR. You should ask them about kits with brushes -- it may save you some time.

Of course. Forgot and/or didn't notice that

I find the session brush drumkit is very good, but has a limited sound. It's recorded in a natural ambience, but that's good and bad. It's good because the reverb is real, but it's bad because you can't change the reverb.

All in all the kit is great for when you just need a small, realistic drumset for a tune. And it is extremely realistic for the filesize (about 5 megs, I think).

A good, free brush drumset that can be found is the Maestro Brush Drumset, and the Maestro Cream Drums are good, too.

Thank you very much for that!

No downloads right now due to bandwidth restrictions, but I'll sure to check back in! In the meantime, I'm going to grab one of the Wizoo kits. Between the Wizoo kit, the CM kit (if I get around to mapping), and the Maestro (when it becomes available), I should have a good start on a brushed drum library.

Thanks again for the link and the opinion!

Yeah, I find that sometimes you can get away with mix-and-matching sounds from various drumsets.

The maestro drum sounds are quite excellent, but sometimes they sound a bit too clean -- I think a touch of good reverb would help out there.

Clean is good. I'm not one for natural room ambience in my samples. There's always standard reverbs and convolution reverb for that. ;)

Hello, all

Earlier in this thread I mentioned some issues using Sonic Implants Brush kit in sfz/sfz+. These issues are now fixed:

I've been talking to René at rgc:audio about this issue. He suggested to open and resave the soundfont in Vienna. Doing so fixed nothing. I tried the same thing with Awave Studio and ...voila... everything in order. :D

The following is René's thoughts of what may have caused the trouble:
Cool it's fixed. It is possible that the soundfonts were created by
converting them from another format by using CD-Xtract. For some reason, it
sets some layers with the invalud setting of volume = 144dB.

While the EMUAPS/SBLive ignore this extreme setting, sfz/sfz+ does not. I
believe it would be reasonable to implement this security limitation, so
possibly in a future version I'll put it in.

Regards,
-René
Thank's for all help, Rene!
