This one bit me, but I don't see the new skins in the menu.kv331 wrote:Are you changing preset skin or global skin ? Try to change the global skin by right clicking and choosing "Change Global Skin" menu.fluffy_little_something wrote:I have done that of course, even closed my DAW. Still, no updated skin...Dasheesh wrote:close it and reopen it.
And in fact i don't see them in the resources.skins subdirectory either. :/
I see 4 dirs names "New Skin" followed by a large number. I installed over 2.8.5 with the updater (not from scratch).
But what's much worse and makes this release simply unusable
viewtopic.php?f=98&t=472816
and now I can't go back to 2.8.4 because we can't download past releases.
Even when not playing, a single instance uses 25% of CPU.
This is a MAJOR bug, please correct it ASAP !

Someone was kind enough to send me the installer for r2.8.4, so I post it here for those people who like me didn't keep the installer and want to roll back:

I fixed & tested both issues in the past 30 minutes, now uploading the latest 2.8.7 to the server.
EDIT: Do NOT publish a paid installer link directly here!

Really sorry to cause this hassle folks, this CPU spike issue has been fixed now. I also added the new satyatunes skin to the Windows update installer (yeah looks like I forgot that one).

Well I know on mac, LD SineScreamer from BT is even more busted now.
when it first came out it was fine,
then quite a few versions ago, it as silent until you moved the modwheel.
now with the modwheel it sounds totally chaotic.

Last night I was thinking of how I can fix this compatibility issue and I think I have a plan! in a subsequent update I will try to implement it, so that presets that are create before v2.7 sound correctly. the issue is that after 2.7 the osc tone parameter has changed because the engine has changed. So for those older presets the resampling algorithm should use the older settings (per preset, it wont be a global setting)
In the short term, what you can do it you can turn up the osc tone parameters a little bit for those older presets.

Does this also counts for soundbanks not producing correct sound?kv331 wrote:Hi Richard, zvenx wrote:Well I know on mac, LD SineScreamer from BT is even more busted now.
