I'd like to hear how much better they sound since you have NOTHING in your music tracker.
what is a "music tracker"? is that some KVR feature that i'm not aware of? (just looked at "My KVR" for the first time ever, didn't see it.)

here's a little tune i made a couple years ago with 'Xils3' (first synth you hear) and 'ABL2':

KB's "VCS3" doesn't/can't sound like that, and that's just a relatively simple bass patch.

"windows wavetable synth"? huh? that was all programmed from scratch on a Nord Modular G2 ten years ago.

man... you'd better hope they've never heard a real one before (or even Xils 3/4 for that matter), or they're going to be insulted. why are you digging up old threads all over the internet to spam everyone with synths that only vaguely look like the originals?

after your recent postings on Muff's, i knew exactly what the latest post was going to be when i saw this thread pop up from the grave the other day. then i tried your free VCS3 Putney plugin. then i fired up Xils3 again. what a difference, to say the least.

If you begin to flame every people on KVR that emits an opinion on a comparison on two synthesizers, while not providing an audio file supposed to demonstrate a statement, you'll simply need to get more lives than your already *busy* one. Because you'll need to play the redemptor in thousands of posts.

Fortunately, if you disagree with a poster on such a comment, you still have a solution : Get the two plugs, compare them, and try to 'prove something' : do the job yourself, instead of waiting for other people to do it for you. Or simply get a life, and let other people live.

Posting other people's music and making *nice* comments : Elegance at it's top. :tu:

Anyway, the track was interesting with a lot of weird, intriguing and unusual sounds. :phones:

Hello? :nutter:

Mr Brown on his website state clearly that: "I make no claim that they actually sound like the hardware synths there are emulations of / based on, for none of them use custom-coded oscillators or filters"

So trying to make an issue out of comparing XILS with Mr Browns creation is totally futile.

With his statement Mr Brown confirms that it may look like a Putney, but that is about it.

What I don't get is why Mr. Brown would dig up this three year old thread, to promote his GUI work in?

did you quote him by mistake? ... i'm not so concerned that they don't sound like the originals, but that they're so inferior/useless in general. digging up a Xils thread from three years ago to spam everyone with some half-finished product that's a complete laugh to anyone who has actually used the Xils version? why?

in the fact that 'Xils3' is a "finished" and well regarded synth, i don't think it's out of line to compare the two. especially as he seems to be offering it as an alternative.

+1 I agree

When Mr Brown digs up an old XILS thread from years ago, it goes without saying that he wants his creation compared with XILS.

And that is like asking for Catch 22, when it is stated by the Mr Brown that nothing behind the hood is modelled on the original hardware, like XILS is

But there is already a thread on the first page here running about the KB synth maker creations. Which is of course OK.

What I don't understand is why on top of that you needed to start bumping old threads about more or less unrelated products to showcase your own.

What if every dev that made freeware did that?

Don't mind them, this is KVR- no matter what you say, someone gets triggered, offended or just old school angry.

I never claimed that my little Synthmaker effort was at all any competition for XILS, just that it functions in a similar way and is free. Maybe I misunderstood the original post - is XILS free to everyone now?

Afaik the Xils 3 LE Beat Magazine Edition is totally free for those who read .... Beat Magazine.

So you can get it, install it, and compare it with your plug.

Iirc there's also a CM version, for those who read other mags.

Doesn't offend me in any way at all Kevin. You have as much right as anyone else here to post in threads, new or old. Ignore the trolls and carry on posting mate.
