The thing is, i don't talk about "good" or "bad", yet you seem to be pretty fixed on that i do so. I'm just talking that one is not able to judge the quality of emulation, if one doesn't happen to have the synth.EnGee wrote:We have better communication in games discussions than in synths it seemschk071 wrote:You just don't understand my point. Anyway, i'll rest my case. But, believe me when i say that it is NOT good or bad i'm talking about here, not at all. How would i even be able to tell, i don't have a Pro-1 or Minimoog.
On a personal note, it is interesting that we now have about 4 Minimoog emus on a high level of quality, which all sound different to each other.

He was trying to prove that I can't judge if they are the best emulations that I have ever heard without having the hardware and made a detailed comparison!! So, it is not "nothing more, nothing less"!!

No, man... i just say that your choice of words wasn't the right one. But, nevermind, this discussion is as pointless as... Trump getting his lawyers on a election fraud case.
Anyway, sorry you got that down the wrong pipe. Nevermind....

My choice of words is fine! Your analysis is not.

You remind me of the judge in The Good Wife who expects the lawyers to always add "... in my opinion" to their statements. It makes people sound goofy, and it's a goofy thing to expect - in my opinion.chk071 wrote:i just say that your choice of words wasn't the right one.

You may think they are amazing synths or fantastic products. But unless/until you can compare them to the original, then you don't know if they are good emulations.EnGee wrote:No he didn't!cryophonik wrote:I understood him. It's entirely possible that they are amazing synths that are not completely accurate emulations. That's even dually possible if what they are emulating aren't amazing synths. In that case, a good emulation would be a bad synth!

Do you not understand that something can be both a good product and a poor emulation?EnGee wrote:Another genius in logic and semanticsRobert Randolph wrote:You may think they are amazing synths or fantastic products. And what the f**k this has to do with my sentence "RePro1 and The Legend are the best emulations that I have ever heard"?!!Robert Randolph wrote:Do you not understand that something can be both a good product and a poor emulation?EnGee wrote:Another genius in logic and semanticsRobert Randolph wrote:

Both are emulations right? They are synths but emulations right?
Let the German gods help you Urs, or maybe you need more, many more!

funniest thing i've seen all day, thanks for the laughs..jon wrote:I've guessed you for a paid U-he shill, but this is pretty thick even from such.
1) sound is nothing special, compared to similar Blocks patch it sounds weak, thin and flat without the FX
2) FX are basic, CPU intensive and have poor UX due to naive cartoon GUIs, easily replaced by better FX plugins
3) the sequencer has 0 usability, yes it takes huge amounts of space (seriously, a monosynth on two pages?) but the actual controls you interact with are tiny and fiddly- it does everything but encourage improvisation
4) GUI is unclear due to mimicking some hardware with no colour coding or any other modern enhancements
5) it's a replica, which by definition is the antithesis of innovation- it contains nothing worthy of the word innovation. First replicas were made over 15 years ago, nothing fresh there either. Sound quality is a disappointment and certainly does not live up to the hype.
It's achievement is sounding similar to a budget monosynth from early 80's, in every other department it fails miserably, making it easily the worst synth by U-he ever.
