THANK YOU! :phew: :tu:

So:
Buy the 8.5 upgrade now.
SIT ON IT.
When 9 is released, activate 8.5, and you'll automatically get your upgrade to 9.
It's how Steinberg does things, with all their software.

Well... people try to mess with the Master/Guru/Archbishop of grace period activations. Thats how I keep my Cubase current for years - I should know something...

Someone that reads German could enlighten us by reading the flyier on the previous page...

Whatever is new, 50% of users will complain. Whatever doesn't get added, a different 50% will complain.
I'll be happy if there are no new major bugs.
Remember 6.5, I think it was, when the info line was open in an editor, a mouse click, anywhere, and instant crash. :dog: Soon fixed, though, to their credit.
Dockable windows would be nice, if you could show/hide them on demand.
Don't care about a sampler, though - got HALion.

The only thing I care is bugs. Really. If they went ahead and released a rock stable VST 32 5.2 version I would still be happy. Well not really, but I think you get the exaggeration. :borg:

The flyer on the previous page just had the English and German versions of features listed. The English features listed was actually the new features list from Cubase Pro 8. So I doubt the German language says anything different.

No need to be sorry! They obviously are starting to sell it already, and retailers have been alerted. So I'm glad you posted the scan because it is additional confirmation.

The one thing that is oddly the STRANGEST(ly) annoying aspect is the VST handling. The scanning takes SOOOOO long. And God forbid that daylight savings time hits and you have some inspiration. This past Monday it took over 45 minutes, with a crash or two and a computer restart to get Cubase to bootup. Granted I have TONS of plugins, but I truly use them all. There is nothing that goes unused during the course of a year. And I also have fantastic computer specs so I REALLY hope something gives on this.

But it is scans when there are new plugins, right? Not every time you start Cubase.

Anyway, loading the projects (even the small ones) takes much longer than other DAWs. So, if I want quickly testing a synth or idea, I use other DAWs (Reaper, Live or now FL Studio which I'm thinking of investing more time to learn it well).
Even Studio One is a little bit faster in loading Projects! but I'm using Studio One less and less since I bought the Artist 8.5 of Cubase. Cubase has a better performance and feel than S1 for me.

I don't think I'll upgrade to 8.5 Pro now (from Atrist 8.5), but I might upgrade to Artist 9 if there are features that I really must have. Overall I'm still happy with Artist 8.5 (missing few things from the Pro only).

Now, for stability. I had some crashes, so I tried to know the reason. Well, there are always errors caused by Waves Codex and E-88 Piano in the event viewer in Windows (daily recorded!). So, I uninstalled those two and also iLok Pace driver and all related software. Cubase seems now stable and doesn't crash when I save and quit quickly (which usually it was crashing when I'm in hurry quitting it!).
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I'm with you. I also have lots of plug-ins and this scan thing drives me nuts. What's worse, I am feeling more and more that it is useless. If there was a plug-in so badly written that it always lead to a crash, we surely would be able to locate it and remove it manually. Besides, what's the poit oh having a scan routine when the first thing EVERY developer test is for his/hers plug-in to pass that routine (even when sometimes there are obvious problems still).

I'm in favour of making this scan thing OPTIONAL. More and more, this is just a useless waste of time.
