ES8 as adat input

I have attached my es8 to my apogee ensemble for additional inputs ... though I can not get any sound at all to work .... I made sure they were the same sample rate and everything ... is there a trick to use the es8 only for adat output into my audio interface?

It doesn't do that, currently. A firmware update might add that in future.

"might" kinda stinks ... Looks like I "might" be out almost 500 for not reading the fine print. Thanks for responding though

Is there something on the ES-8 website that suggests it can work in that way? I'm genuinely asking - if there is I need to correct it.

The ES-8 also has ADAT inputs & outputs. This could be used for example to expand the I/O count via an Expert Sleepers ES-3 and/or ES-6, or to connect a traditional audio interface to add, say, mic preamps or 1/4" line outputs (for example with the Behringer ADA8200).
When I read "connect a traditional interface" , I assumed it went both ways ... both in and out

OK. It is both in and out, but this is all in the context of expanding the ES-8 i/o count - so the ES-8 is still the base audio interface, then other stuff is being added. Not adding the ES-8 as an expander for another interface.
I'll have a go at making that clearer.

Thanks ... and I really really hope you add a firmware for adat into an audio interface ... or I have a $500 unusable interface, or I will make someone happy on reverb shortly with a deal

Looks promising ... this is for both I/O? If so looking forward to connect this to my apogee finally

It's for both input and output, if that's what you mean.
