Hello everyone!
I am new around here and also new on Sample world.
I know that there are too many topicis about this subject and Yes, I used the search/google engines before posting here hehe
We have a lack of information here in Brazil, and after searching too much on the web trying to find several libraries, I ended up without any conclusion about which ones to pick.
I already have the VSCO and Solatina for orchestra.
Ivy 162, Maestro Grand and Stock Sample Tank CS for Pianos.
But I cant find an Hammond b3, for example...
Can you help?

One more question for you that already know. Does any company makes Libraries for Sample Tank, or this is only IK stuff?

SonicReality makes libraries for ST. But there are not many developers for ST.
If you want to use sample library I'd recommend you Kontakt. More powerful, more libraries, can load its own format and sf2, sfz, gig and many others.
Or look at Linux Sampler.

Just helped with the Kontakt version, DSmolken did all the real work on that cello, but was kind enough to share credit.

One question:
I don't own Kontakt and I am trying my best to avoid piracy...
Does converting from Kontakt format for Sampletank/Sfz actually Works?
I mean. I know that it works, but how close?
I "translated" the Maestro Grand Piano from Gigastudio format to Sfz and worked like a charm! But when I translated the sfz filez to Sampletank, I did not got the release sounds :/
I was reading your blog (amazing, btw!), and wanted to try the Sennheiser drum, but I dont own kontakt, neither will have that amount of money in a short period of time.

And only more two things:
I Seen that you did not list this Maestro Grand Piano.
Do you know it? I think this is simply amazing. Sounds really natural and "soulfull" (i dont know if this Word actually exists lol).
And... How can I make Ivy 162 sound good?
I mean... I am not a pianist, but it simply sounds too dark and low for my ears, even that the reviews make it sound good...
Any clue on what I'm doing wrong?

Estate Grand LE is another good free Sforzando instrument. It sounds brighter than Piano In 162.

The Sennheiser drum lib runs in the free Kontakt player I believe (and it's then a path to a cheaper upgrade to the full Kontakt version)

But doesn't it have that (awful) limitation on every 15 minutes or so?

Estate Grand LE has a Sforzando version, which has no 15-minute timeout. The 15-minute limit would only be in the Kontakt version.

DrumMic'A is a Kontakt Player library, so you can register it for free and get rid of the 15-minute timeout.

Also, SM Drums has multiple formats, including the Sforzando version I contributed to.

Hey just got back. I think almost all your questions got answered by others.
I list the Maestro under free pianos, but not stand alones like SFZ or VST since you need a sampler to use it or else a way to convert it. Great piano, I did a Kontakt version because its kind of abandoned at this point, though technically I shouldn't have.
I haven't messed that much with conversion other than from SFZ to Kontakt. I did Sampletank stuff for a while, but ST3 is a step backward from 2 as far as I can tell and I never could figure out release samples in any of them. Anyway I kind of got in a fight with IKM, probably my fault, I'm hotheaded sometimes... Anyway I'd use SForzando over ST3 for the same instruments, though ST3 has some nice stuff in it, the orchestra sucks, but the rest is pretty decent.

I like the Piano in 162, but yeah it doesn't have that brighter cutting sound you need for some things. You might try the Salamander its a Yamaha C5. http://freepats.zenvoid.org/Piano/acous ... piano.html
