No new Absynth?

Hello!
Its beyond my comprehension why does NI ignore Absynth user base and product itself. There were so many requests for an update and overhaul, but zero replies from devs.
Absynth is definitely one of the best and most interesting synths in past 10-15 years. Some patches that people created cant be achivied with other synths and those were so complex, so moving, simply wonderful.
Anyway, time surpassed Absynth, gui is too small, it can be improved, especially env and lfo part. Filters, for todays standards, are outdated and imo, granular synthesis can be improved a bit. I can write couple of more proposals, but will devs listen? Should we waste our time?
What do you think guys?

I think it's time to move on. Use what they've given us (I still do) and be thankful for that much.HcDoom wrote:Hello!

No new Massive either, only various Reaktor thingies.
Seems that they've basically ditched their non-Reaktor synths

Absynth 6 is number one on the list of plugins that I am waitng for.
Number two is Kontakt 6
and three is Iris 3
This is what I dream about every night and then I wake up to the nightmare of reality a life without Absynth 6.

Abandonware. Like most of their non-Reaktor based stuff.
Move on.

It's definitely not abandoned. I've heard a podcast with Brian Clevinger as a guest and he's got something planned for absynth in the future. He didn't say much cuz he couldn't but he did mention he was studying modal synthesis. So I guess maybe some physical modelling might be there. Just speculating though.
Stuck in Aperture Laboratories for a 2nd time!

As far as I know, Brian's still working on new stuff. I talk to him fairly regularly online; he would have said something if it had hit a dead end or was being abandoned.

Sorry, but what a nonsense is this? Massive is from 2007, and has seen an update this very year. I don't know when Absynth got its last update, but, Massive is surely no "abandonware".Neon Breath wrote:Abandonware. Like most of their non-Reaktor based stuff.

The thread is about Absynth, no? OP never mentioned anything about Massive. When was the last time FEATURES were added in it? Maintenance versions are not updates, they are well, maitenance. To me, Absynth is abandoned.chk071 wrote:Sorry, but what a nonsense is this? Massive is from 2007, and has seen an update this very year. Some developers communicate some don't
I like the ones that do communicate.
Usine has said the that there be a Hollyhock 3.
Nora said that there will not be a V3 in 2016 but in 2017.
What does NI have to loose by announcing that Absynth 6 will or will not be released?
Perhaps they are tooooo coooool to do so.
It' there business and they can do what they want to.
And
It is my favorite plugin and i can cry and complain if I want to!

i think Absynth is great as Is
the only thing is that people have stopped talking about it in Forums.
but that doesnt mean it abandonned ware
i really don't think there is anything else they could do with it
the list of what it can do is staggering its probably the most flexible and wide-varying sounding Plugin instrument out there
bread and butter VA synth sound are not its strength though
But for Pads and eery atmospheric its unbeatable. its even got Exclusive synthesis methods
