Hi Attila , would this be possible ?

I highlight a track and all its generators and get RC to take the top note line from each phrase and copy it into a separate new track as a continuous line. The same for the middle and Lowest notes.

In the case of the staccato generator it would separate the top three lines , middle three lines and bottom three lines and copy them to a separate new track.

Once the three new tracks have been made by RC and the notes copied to them you could then turn each line into phrase generator if you wished.

Interesting request. What would be the 'top' note line for the following phrase?:

The green notes on the top or bottom phrase? It is important to define the requirements precisely. Maybe a smart algorithm could divide the notes into 3 groups (top/middle/bottom). This is not always trivial, like the single note before the last 2 notes.

For the 3rd monophonic phrase in the example all notes should be in the top track, right?

Thanks,
Attila

Yes correct all of the notes in the third phrase would be copied to the top track.

As l see it the result does not have to be exact to be of use , a little variation caused by the interpretation of the algorithm would be fine. It would not break the idea.

Rc does a great job with coming up with sophisticated ideas but sometimes when you are working on a big orchestral score you want some simple lines so that the texture does not become too thick. Now of course l can get those lines by editing each phrase but it is a lot of work. I am slowly building up a collection of simple phrases but something like the idea l have proposed would speed things up a lot.

In the examples you posted , in the first generator l would call the fourth and sixth green notes the top line. The first and third note and the two middle yellow notes the second line , and all the other notes the bottom line. But your interpretation would work too.

Thanks for giving this idea some consideration Attila.

Yes, of course I have always taken suggestions and requests seriously.
Your other requests (duplicating phrases in other tracks, and highlighting the middle C note) are already implemented and available in v3.2b1, please see the beta topic.
I'll think about this.

Thanks,
Attila
