wow, 314 euros in germany, i couldnt resist cause i know how stable and non-saley Spectrasonics are!
problem is, i got a 128 GB SSD and only have 4GB left on it .

can i install it on my HDD? is it much slower then to load or still ok? i also load omnisphere 2 from my HDD and the speed is very good.

Yes, you can install on your HDD. If the speed is good for Omnisphere 2 you may be ok.. but Keyscape does have much larger sound sources...

This problem with the fan coming on when the gui is open on Mac is getting annoying now - it seems to do it even with the smaller libraries and doesn't see CPU related as it doesn't do it when I have a more CPU intensive Omnisphere patch loaded - but does do it when I have a Keyscape patch loaded into Omnisphere - I have 8GB RAM, does it need more?

I finally got keyscape downloaded and installed! Only took what, a month? But in fairness I was trekking in Nepal a lot of that time. Finally finished it a few days after arriving in India. Time to pull my cme xkey out of my bag...

Beautiful sounds of course but man do these load slowly! And I'm on an ssd. But actually the thinning feature is useful, which thankfully can be locked when switching presets. I wonder how it thins the samples? How many velocity layers or individual notes are lost I wonder?

But yeah these sound sources are great for using as the basis of synth sounds in Omnisphere. And in those cases, the thinned version is always fine.

Definitely the best sampled Rhodes I've used. But I do personally find the mk1, the vintage vibes and the blue custom one to be quite similar.

Happy with the the purchase. I do feel bad for people who don't have Omnisphere though. Pretty crappy of them not to give the same functionality of Trilian (layers,effects, modulations etc.). I mean the engine was already there to use. It's clearly just a way to get people to buy Omnisphere.

Just wanted to follow up on this:

Keyscape has no control over fan behavior - that is entirely handled by the Operating System, which turns the fan on (and regulates it speed) based on the temperature of the CPU and other hardware components.

Keyscape patches are very high fidelity, which requires the use of a large number of sample files. Omnisphere and Keyscape plugins play the Keyscape patches using drive-streaming technology, which necessarily uses a large amount of CPU horsepower and drive IO.

Our plugins are fully optimized and use only the minimum amount of CPU horsepower necessary. We've been tuning and perfecting our sample streaming technology for a decade now - the plugins do absolute no unneeded work.

- If your computer fan is noisy, you can try a variety of remedial actions:

1) Ensure that the ventilation holes on the computer are not obstructed

2) Ensure that the fan blades are clean

3) Reset the computer's fan controller (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295)

4) If the STEAM database folder is on an internal drive, consider moving STEAM to an external drive

5) Reduce the amount of streaming by using any of the dozen or so Optimization techniques outlined in the Keyscape Reference Guide at https://support.spectrasonics.net/manua ... timization

6) Place your computer in a less-audible place in your studio environment

A single duo patch i created within Omnisphere 2 with 2 of my favourite models from Keyscape.
I just added a bit of B2 reverb (i like it too much maybe ).
It´s a simple improved play via my Rise 25 (in normal piano mode).
Those duo patches are really nice and it´s a lot fun to create a bunch of it...also combined with the rest of all the great Omnisphere 2 sound sources.

I'm surprised that Spectrasonics didn't show the Wurlitzer A200 in their showcase videos since it is a very popular electric piano sound and is used in a lot of modern music too.

Does it sound great? I've been checking the new Waves Electric 200 Piano and it sounds very good from the videos I've seen. Are they fairly similar or does the Keyscape version sound better? I mainly need the wurly sound so maybe it's overkill to get Keyscape — but quality comes first.

Unfortunately, no one with Keyscape offered to render any of those Wurlitzers. That said, my personal favorite of the bunch was the Acoustic Samples Wurlitzer. I didn't own it at the time, but I liked it so much that I bought it this weekend while it was on sale (30%) along with their B-5. Both are excellent:

The Wurlitzers are very good in Keyscape. However, the EP I use most is the Hohner Pianet. Think the Rod Argent piano solos in old Zombies tunes, e.g. She's Not There.

I just found that there are a lot of Wurly examples on Spectrasonics Soundcloud. I'd still like to hear it played more softly and with phaser/chorus/tremolo effects like many of the LA Custom examples.

Sounds likely to be a some kind of expansion pack for Omnisphere using the Keyscape sources - ie new OS patches that require the Keyscape sound sources, so it will only be usable for OS + KS owners...
