No new Absynth?

They need to redo most of their gui's some of that stuff is just painful to use cause none of the controls resemble anything from other synthesizers. I don't even know why I still own Komplete never use any of that stuff. Absynth is the one I used to use the most though.

Still having hopes that NI will understand what kind of gem do they have...
Is maybe Brian Clevinger lurking around this forum? Maybe he can chime in with comment or two regarding Absynths future?

Well, I'm having fun with this having just discovered it, feeding samples and creating organic textures. I remember I wanted something simple like this in the granular feature in Omnisphere, but it was too complex. Absynth seems to do just what it says, at least for me. I expected Paulstretch in VSTi and I finally got it. Not perfect, but it is what it is. The sound quality is okay, although I'm having some problems getting a wide stereo image even with stereo samples.

If you haven't run across it -- a more recent interview with the developer. Apparently he is researching modal synthesis currently for a new product or an Absynth update.

Just accept that NI is now a company that sells content and Reaktor ensembles.

There you go!tehlord wrote:Just accept that NI is now a company that sells content and Reaktor ensembles.
With all the competition and the other synths out there, if Absynth had to be updated, it would have been since a long time.
Told you already, quite obvious to see it’s been abandoned (which is a shame, I'd love to have it updated as well)

If only one week in a year at least they could focus on Absynth instead

Most synth developers have far worse inhouse dev tools than Reaktortehlord wrote:Just accept that NI is now a company that sells content and Reaktor ensembles.

Funny thing is, almost everyone I see in forums would be very, very happy to see it updated, especially with a more modern resizable GUI. I’m sure people would be happy and willing to pay for that update. Boom quick win just with that. They could also easily attract new customers that were not in the game 10 years ago.
Really not sure why they let that little gem rot away….

I would not mind seeing Absynth and Massive updated even if it were inclusive with Reaktor...however I feel that a move like that would irritate current Absynth and Massive owners who do NOT have Reaktor (whoever in the world that might be).

If Absynth 6 and Massive 2 were to now run inside Reaktor then Reaktor would then likley become a DAW.thejonsolo wrote:I would not mind seeing Absynth and Massive updated even if it were inclusive with Reaktor...however I feel that a move like that would irritate current Absynth and Massive owners who do NOT have Reaktor (whoever in the world that might be).
The idea of a Reaktor DAW was something I had previously mentioned here or on another forum.
It seem to me Kontakt, Reaktor and Maschine are the money makers for NI.
Edit: The big money maker is very likely Komplete.

Reaktor on its own probably not. However, it is an important development tool as well as, I guess, a platform to distribute synths and effects that aren't as comprehensive as Absynth, FM8 and Massive. So it provides them the opportunity to create something that can be added to Komplete. But I don't think that this will suffice and I'm quite certain NI is aware of that. While I hope, that all three would get an update, I'm not so sure about that, but I'm quite confident, that not all three might be discontinued. I mean, that would be too stupid - it's like imagining that Trum... - oh, wait...Kalamata Kid wrote:It seem to me Kontakt, Reaktor and Maschine are the money makers for NI.

Seriously, I don't think they might be discontinued, as hell already froze over.

Great interview! I only recently started listening to Darwin's podcast, and hadn't gone back far enough to find this one yet. And the next one after Brian is Carla Scaletti!gremlinmoon wrote:If you haven't run across it -- a more recent interview with the developer.
