Sample Logic setting up deals website?

Just spotted this on another forum:
"I was just speaking to a friend of mine who runs a sampling company and he said they were recently approached by Joe at Sample Logic to see if they wanted to run a "deal" on their new music software deals platform http://www.audioplugin.deals.
Seems like an odd decision for Sample Logic to go into a deals website? I wonder will they still continue to develop products or is that the end for them?"
Anyone hear anymore about this? I quite liked the Sample Logic products and was wondering what they were working on next, but seems from this that they're just setting up a store instead?

It may be a way of bringing in some additional revenue. But I would imagine the operating margins on any plugin deals site have to be pretty thin nowadays and could easily chew up a lot of time, so even if it's not the intention it might lead to the sampling operation slowing down a lot.

What makes you think they will shut down their own website? Plenty of dev sells on discounts websites as well as on their own website. There's nothing new there..

They're setting up an entirely new deals website for other people to sell on, rather than selling their own products on another deals website.SampleScience wrote:What makes you think they will shut down their own website? I just hope they continue to keep developing products in the future

Apparently Impact Soundworks are running a deal with them....this could be interesting!

I would seriously doubt that they are shutting down.
They are one of the most successful sample companies.
Unless the warez sites hurt them, that has happened to so many companies.

The title of this is kind of misleading. Since there is no news or rumor or anything about them shutting down at all. Might want to change the title to something like "Is Sample Logic setting up a deals website?"

The impliation of the thread title, I think it is way over the top to take for granted that Sample Logic is shutting down just because they are asking a third party seller for help to sell their product.
Waves would be shutting down their website every day if that was the case

S/he must have inside information, because that site is not up and running yet:Fleer wrote:Where did journey33 get that screenshot?

Samplelogic sold both Havoc and Gamelan via vstbuzz for a good price. They havent shut down their own store or website, let alone thier company yet. So whta makes someone think they would just because they might have contacted a reseller? Journey 33, you are not working for his particular reseller, are you? Just asking... because you have surely generated some clicks there..

Where is the google cache of that forum thread?Ryan99 wrote:journey33 wrote "Just spotted this on another forum". He copied the message from a thread from the VI Control forum. I saw the original thread which was removed later.
