I am making a bunch of Midi clips in ableton's session view and have set them to Legato mode to keep the sync perfect. However every clip is still starting on the first bar when I launch the clip.. what am I doing wrong?

For the all the other clips that I launch to stay on the exact same bar as the first one without starting from the beginning.thecontrolcentre wrote:What do you want to happen?

Legato has nothing to do with synchronization. It causes to length of each MIDI note to extend all the way to the beginning of the next note, wherever in the bar that might be.
So are you saying, if your first MIDI clip plays through to the second bar, you want the next clip you launch to start at the second bar? Sort of pickup at the position where the previous one left off?

I see. Good tip. I have no idea why it doesn't work for you. Did you do exactly what the vid says? I notice in the vid he's using audio clips, not midi.ls1xxx wrote: this is how I need the clips to perform.

In case you missed the answer
If your global q is at 1 bar (default), short clips will play to end and the next one starts from the beginning. 1/16 seems to work well for beatsy stuff..jon wrote:Try adjusting the Quantization to "None" for example.
