Pre-orderedPeter - IK Multimedia wrote:The amps/fx can be turned off. Per http://www.modobass.com -There is also a global bypass feature that allows you to route the bass signal from MODO BASS into another amp effects modeling suite like AmpliTube Custom Shop, where there’s a whole new world of sonic options available for bass tone shaping and effects waiting for you.

Really hoping that Sweetwater is correct about the 18th being the release date. I'm off on Saturday, short shift Sunday.....and then we go into Black Friday week at work. :-/ShawnMH wrote:Just pre-ordered here too, hope it releases soon...

Forgot to ask this:Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:The demo will be similar to our T-RackS and AmpliTube demos - time-limited.
48 hours, 14 days, 21 days, 30 days? (hopefully without audio dropouts)
This is especially interesting if we talk "Sweetwater" 18th Nov release date. I could really use this thing in a production I'm currently working on and I could compare it to the bass samples I'm currently using (Pettinhouse DirectBass which is a Yamaha TRB-5 and ISW Shreddage Bass v1 which is a Musicman Sterling)

That... is a bit short... for fully testing it's capabilities.
Just saying....
PS: Did my other PM get through at this point? If so, would love to know the outcome.

Seems to work for T-RackS. I don't always get notifications for PMs but if it is about the same topic, the status is still the same.Compyfox wrote:That... is a bit short... for fully testing it's capabilities.

T-Racks is different, Peter. Here you only test "one plugin", one tool that does one (or 2-3) specific tasks.
We're talking about a very detailed instrument here. XYZ keyswitches, sound shaping capabilities with positioning pickups, changing strings and electronics, etc. So you want to try that thing in a production. And 10 days for that is really, really pushing it. Even 14 already is. I know you're not in that division, but maybe forward this as well. Personally I think a 30 days demo does add to the satisfaction of the users- Plenty of time to check things out from head to toe, and then still decide on whether or not you go with the full version.
A lot of people are currently jumping on the Preorder deal and hope for the best. That's not my cup of tea, as I've got burned with this a couple of times at this point. So I wait for the demo on purpose. However - my weekdays are busy, so checking out things are boiled down to up to 1h/day max - on weekdays. That's ideally 10hrs after 10 days. That is really not much time to test honestly.
If somebody would tell me "hey, you get this like... super detailed synth with xyz hundred patches and 100s of features... but sorry, you can only use it for 7 days, and your audio stream craps out after 10minutes", then I'd be walking miles around that thing.
And yes... the PM would cover the same topic - guess it will solve itself in the next 48hours

Well... that is unfortunate... either IK Multimedia wants to drag out the "preorder" as long as possible post Black Friday/Cyber Monday... or Sweetwater plays on the safe side. I dug around a bit, nobody else lists a shipping date.
Either way - no demo, no buy-o.
And I stand my ground on the too short demo period.

We aren't dragging out anything, we're working to bring the best possible product out within November and not chasing a specific date. I appreciate the enthusiasm, patience, and how anxious people are to have MODO BASS.
We have published a video showing the slap play style which was requested previously, too:

OK, I was given a date of November 30th (which is also now reflected on Sweetwater's listing) for MODO BASS.

Best to put the time in up-front and get it right, rather the release a product full of defects and missing functionality. Would it be great to get is sooner? -- sure. But not at the cost of quality issues or lacking features. Glad to see IK take the time to get it stable for the initial release.

No, please don't get this wrong. Sometimes "dragging out things to get more sales" is a good thing. But the announcement was "in November", so going by the date given (which is now official), I was like "maybe... yadda yadda".Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:We aren't dragging out anything, we're working to bring the best possible product out within November and not chasing a specific date.
I'm also for a fully fleshed out tool rather than a buggy release that will be patched in the next months to come (with slow release times, and then eventual paid upgrade). But at this point, I really (really!) want to try a demo first before investing any money (though my criticism with 10days demo remains). So no pre-order investment from me.
